We had fun, but we were also sensisible...

I fear I have been part of the problem :stunned:

Theres just too many god damn people now, too many things going on, its ridiculous to try and keep up. I only come on every now and then but I can never remember who people are.

 

We had a nice little community of characters 6 years ago, Im not saying that we had better characters, more interesting or funny, but it was easier to identify who people where straight away. I knew everyone after a few days of posting and now its just too overwhelming to get to know people, I end up knowing barely anyone, just the oldies.

 

Ho-hum, its nobodys fault really just the board is a lot bigger, more successful and I suppose thats a good thing in a way, but all I know is that I used to have a lot of fun on here and now I just flick through a few of the many new topics with many new posts and usually I dont even bother replying.

There were pointless threads made back 5 years ago, just take a look back down memory lane.

 

But pointless threads are better than the board being dead.

I'm getting pretty tired of it here. It's not even the pointless threads for me as much as it is the member-dedicated ones. It was cool to have 2 or 3, but now we're pushing 673 and it's bothering me. Also, the "chat here" type threads. All of the threads are for chatting in. Wtf.

It's not that bad.

I subscribe to the theory that if everyone made a stink about every little thing that annoyed them, nothing would ever get done in this world!

you know one way to stop pointless threads is to bump the non-pointless threads up ;)

 

or make new non-pointless threads.

besides, I think the truly pointless threads will fall to the bottom due to disuse. The ones which gain in popularity and are used all the time are no loner "pointless" because they are a vital part of the board's lifecycle. Thus I think it is impossible to have a truly popular useless thread :smug:

Actually, things get accomplished when people fix things that annoy them. Like Hoverounds were invented when obese people decided they were tired of walking.

daryl in the summer when i joined the board there were a lot of stange threads, in which even people spoke in some slang they only knew :P
