May 22, 200917 yr Hi all, I've seen a couple of people post things about being upgraded or seeing others get upgrades at shows and was just wondering what I could do to improve my chances of getting upgraded myself. I'm going to 3 shows this summer, and have AWFUL tickets for 2 of them- lawn and the uppermost, farthest section in an arena. Any ideas/tips are appreciated!! Thanks!
May 22, 200917 yr keep an eye out for wandering roadies. and be prepared to sing Coldplay songs at them
May 22, 200917 yr Is there an upgrade office thingy in live nation venues like they have at baseball games?

May 22, 200917 yr Does anyone know how the whole Best Buy thing works? I'm wondering if it would be worth it to sign up for the rewards club thing just to have a chance of being upgraded. :P
May 23, 200917 yr Author xxKels- no worries about knowing the band members names... I've been a fan for a long time :) I just don't know the roadies like so many of you seem to! Btw, I'm relatively new to the forum and am sooo looking forward to my concerts this summer (#3, 4 & 5 for me) after reading all the great reviews and pics everyone has posted!
May 23, 200917 yr ask The Angie or Mel to direct you on roadies- or i think there was a "lovely roadies" thread awhile ago, with all their names/pics. Yeah- check that. Big help.
May 23, 200917 yr Author Thanks, guys! I'll see if I can find the roadies thread. Any other words of advice out there?
May 23, 200917 yr yep. Tread carefully if you meet up with a woman named "Jackie":stunned::devil: :surprised:
May 27, 200917 yr to anyone who's been to their shows lately, are the roadies still giving upgrades? (even for the PIT section?)
May 27, 200917 yr to anyone who's been to their shows lately, are the roadies still giving upgrades? (even for the PIT section?) Oh, I think a girl on the Hershey concert thread said she was given an upgrade. It helped that she and her friends were wearing her Viva La Vida-inspired t-shirt, tote, and nails  All home-made, it seems :) So, the lady who gives the upgrades saw her, and gave her an upgrade.

Oh OK! Thanks, Lore! That's definitely good to hear :)
May 28, 200917 yr ^I am already pretty sure on what I will wear, not to get an upgrade, just because *A cream-colored t-shirt I bought long ago (and wear often :P) that has a few pink and green butterflies with some Japanese characters in the front, and a geisha in the back (it reminds me of Lovers in Japan, squeeeee!) *My French militia-style dark purple jacket (also got it years ago. It'll be hot but whatev) (oh, I should add color arm-strings) *Dark jeans (nothing special about them) *Nails painted in red and black *Mardi Gras-like bead of fake pearls and FOUR wooden butterflies (which my sister got at the Gasparilla parade, and it's been haging in my room since waiting to be worn for Coldplay!!!) *Shoes (I guess my black and pink sneakers...) My sister might fight with me over the beads thou

Hahaha yes, that was me! :nice: While we were hiding out from the rain the roadie in charge of lighting, idk her name, but she came up to us, introduced herself, complemented our homemade goodies :P and offered us the upgrades! then she left to find other people. She ended up giving upgrades for the whole first 2 rows, at least in our section. Oh and we also had a poster  So what I have to say is definitely make yourself be noticed with what you wear etc and may the Coldplay karma be with you!!
May 28, 200917 yr ^^awesome!! the feeling of getting an upgrade is like being on cloud 9...it's the best

So what I have to say is definitely make yourself be noticed with what you wear etc! :D Our concert is the last one, so I'm stoked! :D My sister will think I'm crazy, but we're gonna be there early (2pm-ish?). She said she wanted to make a VIVA tote. She wanted to buy one last year at the concert, but ended up buying a t-shirt. But, idk, she's super busy right now, so I better do that myself. Well, one for each. I'm gonna buy the biggest totes I can find, and paint the VIVA on them, because I'm filling a piñata with that butterfly confetti  No Ziploc bag for me, all in the tote. AND the posters/signs!!! Did you made any? So many Coldplayers have had luck with their signs, it's because they have been creative.
May 28, 200917 yr ^^awesome!! the feeling of getting an upgrade is like being on cloud 9...it's the best  hahha yes it definitely is!! We couldn't believe our luck, we were pretty much squealing and screaming for 10 minutes straight!
May 28, 200917 yr localola86 -Hope the tote turns out well!! I just bought a pink and black one from Michaels and wrote VIVA COLDPLAY in red and gold paint :) Seemed to have done the trick! I brought posterboard and markers with me to the venue and my friends and I decorated it right before the rain came, and then it got destroyed :( THe roadie still appreciated it though, which was nice!

We couldn't believe our luck, we were pretty much squealing and screaming for 10 minutes straight! hahah! that's exactly how my friend and I reacted as the roadie escorted us to the floor! we giggled and squealed like crazy once we got to our seats...everyone around looked at the both of us as if were were insane :laugh3: i've never been that close and the image of seeing the guys and stage so near you is really surreal and unexplainable!
