The extra speaks again, and on JRM!

 

I was filming today, and the banter between the crew, actors and extras was constant. It seems that we're all happy now that filming is nearing its finale, though, to be honest, that does not necessarily mean we are happy that it is ending.

 

I and several other counselors were in a scene today that involved JRM and the simply delicious Jolie Richardson (sorry if that sounds effusive - and slightly sexist - but heck, the truth must out as she IS a hugely attractive human being, both in ability and personality!). Mr. Meyers, as usual, gave a mesmerising performance - as did Ms Richardson in return. I was fortunate to be sitting with the Queen at my feet, and the King within touching distance to my left. I've never been so close to acting that first-rate and touching. A real honour. There is a fabulous emotional connection between the two characters that has been crafted perfectly by their actors.

 

Truly great stuff, and you all will not be disappointed, I promise.

The movie is very good and funny!!! The main character reminded me of Dr House :D As for Henry, pity is just got as much acting as a green plant :dozey: He just plays the 'pretty boy' but his part doesn't require much in term of acting. I hope that his future movies will be better for him! He will play Thésée in 'War of gods' (about greek mythology....I fear a 'prince of persia/300/Troy thing.... :uhoh: )

So I found out about Henry for the first time earlier this year. And wouldn't you know it..... he has been in the Count of Monte Cristo this whole fucking time :bomb: I didn't even know it...:dunce: That's pretty much one of my favorite movies and I own it, but i havent watched it in a while. So here I watch it last night and to my surprise a young Henry is Albert Mondego in the movie!!! :stunned: I have NO idea how I didnt realize that was him before... I always thought he was a hottie but I never bothered to look up the name of the actor. What a coincidence :dozey:

Well, Thésée is not a god. He's a royal (son of king Egée which give his name to the sea). Thésée is famous for the killing of a famous bull and for fighting the Minautor in the maze. He delivered Ariane (who gave him a string to help him find his way back and not get lost). When coming home with Ariane, he's so happy that he forgot the promise he made to his father (which was: if winning=white flag on the boat, if dead in combat=black flag). So Egée saw the black flag floating on the returning boat, thought his son is dead and killed himself by jumping on the sea (hence the name nowadays we gave to this sea, referring to this legend).

 

Anyway, I don't know if I'm too excited to see him fight bulls during 2 hours... :uhoh: Plus, the director is unknow so ???? about the quality of the script...

Troy, which was that kind of movie, was terrible!!! Plus americans have a tendency to modify (->simplify) the legends and doesn't make sense anymore...

 

So I don't think it will be a 'good' movie...just 2h of drooling :lol:

First, they should have started not to put Orlando Bloom in a main role, this guy can't act!! He was just ridiculous... :dozey: Same for Pitt who overacted all the movie long and look like a raging bull with no brain. Only Eric Bana played well!! As for the legend...geez, Achille should have died right away with the arrow on his heal...no need to shoot him with multiple arrows afterwards (but I guess the director wanted to use the ONLY skills Bloom acquired from Lords of the ring :lol: )

The bond between these characters is close, but never that close that the King’s religious fanaticism about Protestantism doesn’t interfere. Saying that, there is still an indisputable atmosphere of respect between both Henry and Katherine.

 

And yes, the Kings leg is getting horribly worse. I caught a glimpse of the prosthetic make-up during the summer, and it ain’t pretty. It must have been horrendous in reality, and painful beyond belief. Indeed, there was a scene filmed this year where the King threatens a surgeon in the most direct and abusive manor as the poor guy attempts to lance the wound. JRM made noises like you wouldn’t believe, and it was a really harrowing piece of acting. I’ve read recently that in reality the King’s leg could be smelt two rooms away. That’s beyond rotten…
