Just looking at the Beatles solo careers shows their influence. George Harrison was actually one of the main influences for Coldplay... and Guy Berryman is a huge fan of The Beatles. Here's one of Harrison's finest songs he wrote. Shame he couldn't write more for The Beatles. Actually one of the finest Beatles songs ever.

Nope but thanks for posting that fact. I never mentioned the fact that JUST because you cover a song from another artist doesn't mean you're influenced. Next time read more carefully.

No. It may seem pointless to you but others may be interested to find the covers by those two great bands.

Seriously? They aren't that obscure, they are very well known in England.

 

Plus it's very possible for something that isn't immensely popular to be overrated.

 

 

I'm sure they are, much as muse is much more popular in england, from proximity if nothing else. Obviously I can't vouge for their reputation and popularity in other countries, but at least in Tennessee they're very obscure. In fact, I might never have heard of them if it wasn't for this messageboard. And since I am really impressed by their music, they'd have to be a whole lot larger for me to start thinking they might be overrated.
