1 - Radiohead - About as boring as Gordon Brown reading "A Brief History of Time" on Radio 4. Critic whores pleasure the few hardcore fans they have out there by giving depressing, downright awful albums top marks. But then again, Gordon Brown readin "A Brief History of Time" would be a Radiohead fans equivalent of a day out at Alton Towers wouldn't it?

 

2 - Nirvana - Kurt Cobain shot himself in the head. Up until that point nobody really raved on about them because in reality they weren't special. So what if he killed himself? Buying their albums will hardly help now will it. That guy from Kill Bill died from heart failure caused by an orgasm... I doubt he'll get a legacy.

 

3 - Kings Of Leon (Only By The Night Era) - The band were fantastic before for their first 3 albums and were hugely underrated.... and then they became a U2 tribute band, and yet they only become big because of this?? If you want to see a U2 tribute band don't see them... in fact go and see "Rattle and Hum", Lancashire's premier U2 tribute band.

 

4 - Guns N Roses - "Welcome to the jungle"?? I think I'll leave thank you. I once read on a web page that Axl Rose was an anagram for "Oral sex". It said Guns N Roses is a synonym for "garbage". So harsh... yet so true.

 

5 - Iron Maiden - Yes, the old sweaty pensioners from East London really did get voted best Live Act of 2008 at this years Brit Awards, fending off the likes of Elbow and Coldplay. Quite how, I will never know. It's got to the point where there grandsons are now being stopped in the streets, whilst their aged grandad rockers look on in disbelief.

I HATE RADIOHEAD.

1. Nirvana: Why this band is reviled, I have no idea. They made terrible music.

2. Green Day: They're okay, I guess, but I don't see them as musical legends. They're just a plain band making bland music.

3. The Rolling Stones: Not all of their music, but everything up from 1985 or so.

4. 3 Doors Down: Another band I just don't get. All their music sounds the same.

5. Pain Of Salvation: I'm not sure if anyone here has heard of this band. They're constantly compared to Dream Theater, but while I love DT, I just can't get into this band. It just doesn't click for me.

To answer the original question, the first names that come to mind are:
