Joe Satriani reference in 2002?

Featured Replies

I'm sure someone back in 2008 when the news broke about Coldplay/Satriani went back and edited this, Chris should read this and sue VH1 for adding something to his interview that is a load of crap, think about it, why out of nowhere would he say this? he said Coldplay never even heard of any Satriani songs, I wouldn't pay any mind to this.

I don't think that was edited in. He probably really did say that, and maybe it didn't really mean anything... I don't know. But it seems silly for VH1 to have done that.

I am sticking by what I said, some douche bag over at VH1 had a marshmellow up their ASS and decided this would be funny to shit out!!! It makes me really mad interviewers will twist the interviews and write things out of context, and go back and re-write something to suit themselves, out of every person on this planet WHY would Chris say Satriani's name?? he has never mentioned him as a great artist with great music that they look up to in anything they have done, I mean Chris has said many times inspiration has come from certain bands they look up to, certainly never Satriani's name has ever been mentioned, other than the lawsuit where he says they have never even listened to his music.

This is the original transcript and hasn't been modified. I copied and pasted it into a text file when I saved the videos. The modified date of my text file is 17 August 2002 and it included the Satriani quote then.

VERY! VERY WIERD!

Probably Satriani commented on some other band. Idk.

I told my dad about this (he was in the music industry) and he said that certain artists are always looking for a quick buck. And how could Coldplay have plagerized Satriani's song when it is also said that they plagerized Cat Stevens' song. To my knowledge it is kind of impossible to plagerize to totally different songs at once. And with the music industry at an all time low, I think that Satriani was just looking for his quick buck.

But, that is just my opinion.

And yes, we should ask the oracle. This seems very suspicious.

Honestly, this is very perplexing. I think someone should ask the oracle or vh1 or somebody who would know what in the world is going on lol.
