A friend of mine sent me a song over msn called The Scientist, and I loved it! I remember listening to it all the time, and I just started listening to more and more songs!

I like to blab, so here's my story :P :

I used to leave the radio on at night so I could fall asleep to it. In 2003, while staring nowhere in the dark waiting to doze off, I heard the opening of Clocks come on. I was 14 years old.

That piano had me instantly hooked. Then I heard the voice, which wasn't like anything I'd really heard before (his falsetto was something else to me). I just layed there and concentrated on the song for five minutes, getting lost in it, determined to remember it in the morning so I could find out what it was called and who it was by -- especially since I didn't end up catching what the DJ said.

It was stuck in my head for a week. I remember clearly: It was toward the end of my 8th grade school year in May, and I could barely pay attention in algebra class because I had that song (or at least what I remembered of it) in my head :D Eventually I Googled the lyrics to find out the title and band. I downloaded Clocks and Yellow, which I later heard and loved. Then I heard The Scientist on the radio and I couldn't get enough of it.

A few weeks later I finally decided to buy A Rush of Blood to the Head -- my first CD ever, by Coldplay, who became my first favorite band ever, and in 2005, my first concert ever.

For these "first" events, and for the joy they've brought me and what they've gotten me and my family through, Coldplay and their music will always be an important part of my life. :)

I feel so bad about it now, seeing as I absolutely adore Coldplay, but here it goes:

At first, I have to say I thought Coldplay was just another annoying, mainstream band when I heard Viva La Vida played 20 times in an hour on the radio. I love U2, and as some know, U2 fans either hate or love Coldplay. Though when I was watching 60 minutes right before U2 was opening the Grammys this year, I fell in love with the four guys. And here I am. :)

I liked them for a long time. The first song I heared by them is Yellow. Can't help but think about the giant balloons they use live! :D

well, i guess it was talk & speed of sound. i was 11 or something? i downloaded some more songs en recognised most of them like the scientist, don't panic, trouble, yellow, clocks, anyway, loads of them. i got more and more interested. then i found all of the cd's at home and the 2003 dvd, watched it when we were driving to italy, and i really really really wanted to go to their concert, en tada! o wow.. 5 years of addiction :| didn't realise that.

Shiver did it for me!

When I first heard the end of that song ("it's you I see, but you don't see me"...), I thought "WOW!"... I can't remember exactly when that was, though

When I heard Viva La Vida, I didn't really like it. But LIT ii got me hooked. Then Lovers in japan sealed the deal. Then I remembered hearing speed of sound and clocks a few years earlier and decided to become a coldplay fan.

OK well I'll tell my whole Coldplay story, in brief.

The first Coldplay song I ever loved was Fix You. That was back in September of '07 I believe. I listened to it 1000 times or so:D. But I didn't start to love the actual band until I was watching Palladia one day and saw The Scientist video. This was in Febuary of '08. I was in shock at the amazingness of it, and after that I researched Coldplay for the first time. In between first hearing Fix You and The Scientist, I also heard Speed of Sound, Clocks, and Talk, which I particularly loved, especially the line"you could climb a ladder up to the sun". I didn't know what those songs were called at the time, and I didn't even know they were by Coldplay, but whenever I heard them on the radio I got really excited. Anyways, once I did some research into Coldplay I quickly learned to love a good handful of their songs: In My Place, Yellow, Low, Don't Panic, Politk, Trouble, Shiver, Sparks, Pour Me, and Green Eyes(isn't it creepy how I remember this so well?). Then in August of '08 I was looking up Coldplay on limewire and I stumbled upon Strawberry Swing, which I instantly loved and listened to on a daily basis for quite some time. Then in September of that same year I was at Borders browsing the CDs as I often do and I came across VLVODAAHF, and noticing that it had Strawberry Swing on it, decided to buy the album. I listened to it 3 times through immediately after I got home that day and it was at that point that I knew I truly loved Coldplay. And I have been obsessed with them ever since:D.

Wow. Everybodys first song was Speed of Sound...

It was mine too. Heard it on the radio in a buffet :)

I first heard 'Talk' and absolutley hated it. Then one summer I went to camp, and one of the counselors there would say, "Put on yellow, put on yellow". I had no idea what this meant! But then I realized it was a song, and it was beautiful!

I saw them do an interview on mtv. and then they played the the scientist video. it was love at first sight ;) the next one I heard was clocks on the radio and I loved that too so I bought a rush of blood...
