September 21, 200916 yr I don't have the answer but, I'd love to know. Open G sounds right to me.
September 21, 200916 yr Open G sounds right to me. Open G sounds right to me! :cheesy:  That sounded like a barney song, if you say it in a overly cheerful voice :laugh3: Oh, and I have absolutely no idea :wideeyed: I can't play the guitar :wacky:
September 21, 200916 yr I don't have the answer but, I'd love to know. Open G sounds right to me. That sounds about right. Off-topic though, I love that song!
September 22, 200916 yr Author john_b u have to show me you playing it :D would love to see it x i think ive worked out about 70% of it :)
September 25, 200916 yr i m not sure but he played in the documentary also yellow with that guitar so i think he has tuned his guitar with open D#!!
September 25, 200916 yr wedding bells tab after 5 painstaking hours with my guitar i figured the tabs out standard tuning.... here are the chords in the order that he plays them 1st e|---0-----------------------------------------------------------------------| B|---8------------------------------------------------------------------------| G|---0------------------------------------------------------------------------| D|---9------------------------------------------------------------------------| A|---10-----------------------------------------------------------------------| E|---0------------------------------------------------------------------------| 2nd e|----0-----------------------------------------------------------------------| B|----7-----------------------------------------------------------------------| G|----0-----------------------------------------------------------------------| D|----9-----------------------------------------------------------------------| A|----9----------------------------------------------------------------------| E|----8--use thumb--------------------------------------------------------| 3rd e|---0-----------------------------------------------------------------------| B|---3------------------------------------------------------------------------| G|---0-----------------------------------------------------------------------| D|---5------------------------------------------------------------------------| A|---5------------------------------------------------------------------------| E|---4 thumb------------------------------------------------------------------------| 4th e|---0------------------------------------------------------------------------| B|---8-----------------------------------------------------------------------| G|---0------------------------------------------------------------------------| D|---0------------------------------------------------------------------------| A|---10------------------------------------------------------------------------| E|----9-----------------------------------------------------------------------| then do the 3rd chord, then 1st then 2nd then 3rd again then play this 5th e|----0-----------------------------------------------------------------------| B|----5-----------------------------------------------------------------------| G|----0-----------------------------------------------------------------------| D|----7-----------------------------------------------------------------------| A|----7-----------------------------------------------------------------------| E|----6-----------------------------------------------------------------------| then 3rd chord again this part is harder you play a C-maj chord e|---0------------------------------------------------------------------------| B|---1------------------------------------------------------------------------| G|---0------------------------------------------------------------------------| D|---2------------------------------------------------------------------------| A|---3------------------------------------------------------------------------| E|---0------------------------------------------------------------------------| then a quick... e|---0------------------------------------------------------------------------| B|---0------------------------------------------------------------------------| G|---0------------------------------------------------------------------------| D|---4-----------------------------------------------------------------------| A|---0------------------------------------------------------------------------| E|---0------------------------------------------------------------------------| then the 3rd chord and then repeat the harder part one more time and thats what he plays on the south bank show
September 25, 200916 yr I've played this and it doesn't sound at all like wedding bells! Anyway thanks for your try!
September 25, 200916 yr really cause when i play it to the youtube version it sounds exactly like what he plays
September 26, 200916 yr When I tune my e string to D and change that last quick chord to the 5th fret on the A and B strings it sounds fine. The only problem now is the final "...I always loved you and I always will" part. Beautiful song though, I hope Chris finishes it.
September 26, 200916 yr Alright so of course a moment after my last reply I have a moment of inspiration. "The" chord Chris plays at the beginning is D|-0--| B|-8--| G|-0--| D|-9--| A|-10-| E|-8--| (t) The chorus (I always loved you and I...) is D|-0-0-0-| B|-1-3-0-| G|-0-2-0-| D|-2-4-x-| A|-3-x-5-| E|-3-2-3-| (t) Apologies for the lack of proper formatting and the bit of 'inspiration' I've taken from Coldplayplusjuanes' tabs, I've had a bit to drink.
September 26, 200916 yr tabs oh ok thanks....yah i figured those out from watching the vid i don't have a guitar with me but i will definitely try out the other tunings..... I know those are the correct tabs except for..."I always loved you and i always will"....but i knew a tuning of one struing was wrong so thank you very much for finding it out :D

September 27, 200916 yr Oh no, I don't mean the first chord in the song itself, that one I posted was 'the' chord he refers to in the beginning of the longer video, in which he explains the inspiration for the song, your original tab of the beginning sounds perfect to me.

September 27, 200916 yr I don't think it will becase they are working with Eno again, and before that segment on the south bank show he said h doesn't like having chris in the studio with the rest is because he comes in with whole ideas of songs (eg wedding bells) and that's exactly what Eno doesn't want. If you don't know what I'm talking about then watch the south bank show.
September 27, 200916 yr south bank show dangg i know i missed it =/ i only watched the wedding bells video on youtube...would you by any chance know a link of where to watch the show in its entirety??
