Define 'shitty'. Because I think the Temper Trap and Empire of the Sun would disagree.

Empire of the Sun album came out in 2008. Lisa Mitchell, Dappled Cities and Temper Trap had the only great aussie releases of the year. 2007 provided a good 10 awesome aussie albums and 08 wasnt far behind.

 

the fact that triple j waited until july to announce thier first J Award noms is very telling.

really mellow stuff. Nice melodies.

The xx are brilliant. Not like the presets at all. More like the temper trap without the big epic built up.

Yeah, it's incredibly stripped back, atmospheric sounds. Like every beat and every note counts. The album is mesmerising.
