those of you who read jmag might have seen the announcement that triple j's impossible music festival is returning this year after a short hiatus.

 

the virtual festival is basically 3 days of non stop live music on triple j. the stations plays their live concert recordings back to back non stop over the 3 days, bringing over 60 recordings.

 

at the moment there isnt much on the triple j website about the event but from the jmag article it will start on june 28 and end on july 4. my theory is that they will play a couple of shows each night during the week then go non stop over the weekend.

yeah last one was september 08. it was replaced last year by the hottest 100 of all time. im hoping like last time they bring in alot of BBC and EBU recordings and maybe borrow a couple from NPR in the states. it would be a little boring if they just play their own stuff.

yeah thats the one. i would of preferred it if they waited until the tickets had gone on sale so the poster would include the added dates. also the ads in the paper promoting the tour have the aussie flag wrapped around the globe. otherwise i love the look of it!!

Same. I got mine today. Nice satiny finish too. As for the dates, yeah chances are I wont get first night so it will be misleading!!

Yeah I've seen a massive poster of the same design (but much bigger) on a random wall on a random street near my college... I've been considering stealing it, but then I guess that's probably classed as, well, stealing.... haha.

Yeah don't steal. Ring the poster company up and they'll give it to you. I did here and I am going into the city this arvo to their office to pick up some band ones before they recycle them :)

Considering I got standing at ROD LAVER this is the proudest moment of my ticket-buying life.. I couldnt even get this for Coldplay!

 

And as for Jack Johnson, I missed out on reserved seating, so i got lawn :( still ok, if I get there early we can be close!

I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be able to afford any more concerts this year now, haha.

In other news, this is the map of the Exhibition centre, which shows that they'll be bringing the pillars down here for the shows :awesome:
