Coldplay break

Featured Replies

I don't see the point of it really.

I'm not going to take a break from one of the few things that makes me truly happy.

Besides, there's nothing like a concert rush, so nothing else can even comapre.

I always have variation with Coldplay:

Then a Viva La Vida Song,

Parachutes song,

B-side,

live version,

AROBTTH

X&Y

I'll never get bored of them :-)

I've done it. Not intentionally, but when you return to listening to them you appreciate and enjoy the songs a lot lot more. But when you do listen to them after a while not listening to them you think "This is why they are by far my favourite band".

I can´t even imagine not to listen to them everyday!!!

i stopped listening to coldplay for almost 40 days last april/march, (just before easter we fast for 40 days like Christ did and give up something that we love, i gave up chocolate and coldplay, not only listening but also going on coldplay.com researching about them, pics...everything) it was hell for the first 2 weeks and when it was over i started to appreceiate them a lot more because during those 40 days i started looking for other bands, and listening to diffrent music but there's no one like them:):) (but i discovered snow patrol and muse wich is great:) )

I had almost a half year break, 2 years ago, but now I can't imagine living without Coldplay, even a day without them. Their music make me happier than anything, helps me in my bad moments and in everything.

I broke it today, my phone rang and my ringtone is shiver :P but im not counting that. I haven't listened for two days (other then that... but i did let my phone ring for a bit :P) like yesterday was kinda hell but today its better, not that i don't miss them i do believe me! but its easier today... i think i am going to do it for about a week, maybe longer if i can!

I have such an urge to listen to "Now my feet wont touch the ground" i have been signing it alllll day!

I just listened to Billie jean the live cp version by mistake and it starts of with chris saying "come on Will!" and it took so much to change the song! Ahh i just like died!

once i dared myself not to listen to any music intentionally for as long as i could possibly!

sadly, i only lasted 5 hours when a friend stuffed a earphone in my ear and played 'talk'. After that i gave up completely.

I've never done it intentionally. If I feel like listening to Coldplay, I listen to Coldplay, if I don't, then I don't... pretty simple.

the last time i listened to a coldplay album was ..like 6 months ago...

yesterday i listened to proof. it's pretty good actually.

Well I always have to take some time in which I don't listen too much to Coldplay because I'm kinda tired of the music - as bad as it sounds. The last four weeks for example Coldplay was not in the centre for me - I listened to other music and was a bit worried about it because the band means so much to me. However since the last days it is like I discovered them again. I listened to "Life in technicolor II" this morning and great memories of the concert came up. Then I listened to "For you" and "Animals" on my way to work - songs that I did not really like at first but today I was so enchanted by the songs...that's exactly the thing I love about Coldplay - every song has the ability to grow on you and make you see everything from another perspective. Now I know- I will always turn to their music.

I think it's good that you take some time off, the more you will love it afterwards. Listening to often to Coldplay can somehow destroy the magic of the songs.

aww:(

but I hope it succeeds for you:nice:

I couldn't even deal with not listening to Coldplay♥

I think the itunes genius playlists are great for weening yourself off coldplay songs,

Make one with a coldplay song, so you have the first song coldplay

then listen to the rest of the playlist.

( and they make perfect playlists for me :) )

I don't listen to them that much these last days, we have to hang on for 2 years, so being tired of their music would be horrible cause I love them so much !

I randomly decided to end my 5-week break today! And boy was I ready. I listened to VLV so loud on my drive home I didn't hear the ambulance behind me. :uhoh:

Haha you see, a Coldplay break can be dangerous :P

Couldn't stay away. Tried. Too hard. Like a crack addict I had to put in LRLRL on my way home from work. Feel soooooo much better.

I decided two days ago to randomly try to give up Coldplay's music for a week, just to see if I could do it. So the first day was really, really incredibly hard. I was like, as lucyb123 said before, a crack addict. I swear I was suffering from withdrawals. Anyway, so today it's been a little easier. But anyway on my way home from a shopping trip Violet Hill came on the radio... As soon as I heard the first notes I started freaking out and I was yelling at my mum "VIOLET HILL!! WHAT DO I DO?" She told me to just listen to it and I did and it was amazing! I'm going to try to give up Coldplay again for a week, starting today...

"VIOLET HILL!! WHAT DO I DO?"

I'm not sure what to say to this.

i understand going on a coldplay fast, seeing as how its going to be a long 2 years at least *winces* but this is why my ipod is a giant epic medley of oasis, u2, the doors, fray, radiohead, hendrix and joplin, the weepies, beatles, keane and 65 different coldplay songs to choose from.... Including recordings of ones only played live.

My ipod is what im addicted to, one day without it and i am anxious, irritable, whiney, jittery,.....its not p.m.s. I forgot my ipod at home. coldplay .... Iv nevr actually tried going w/o listening to em.

One time in creative writing class, i fell asleep and woke up 45 min later when my teacher played Life in Tech. 2. I woke up FOUR SECONDS into the song!!!

She said i looked like a puppy that just heard the kibble being poured lol.

I started my Coldplay break yesterday. I decided to give up their music for 2 weeks. I'm listening very much Snow Patrol, Keane, Damien Rice and it's a bit easier.

I get sick of them, that's why I decided to take a break. I don't know how long I can live without Coldplay, but I hope I can resist for 2 weeks. :laugh3:
