Coldplay break

Featured Replies

I decided yesterday that i was going to take a break from listening to music from the boys for a few days. I started this morning and i haven't listened to more then a few notes of LITi ii by mistake. I am scared that i am going to get sick of them (which right now i can't even fathom happening, but i just want to be safe)) if its all i listen to like it is now :P

Has anyone else done this? is it a good idea? do you think it will make me appreciate them more when i listen again? or there is no point in doing it?

and how long do you think i should do it for?

lol lots of questions! but i want to see what other coldplayers think about this!!

I hope everyone has a good day! :D

Once I stopped listening to Coldplay for almost 3 days, but I couldn't take it any longer... :uhoh:

So I say keep listening but listen to a variety of their songs, so you don't sick of all them... :cheesy:

I stopped listening to Coldplay after giving VLV one listen..

i tried this but only lasted for a about a little over 1 day...:laugh3: because i keep hearing strawberry swing in my head during that time.

Hunny I made Coldplay Rehab!

I was in it for a whole two weeks, well 11 days, I broke when VLV came on the radio :laugh3:

Its hard but try getting into newer music, thats what I did, now I barelly listen to Coldplay .... well that is a lie

Go for about 1 week, its an amazing idea, cua when I heard all the Coldplay songs after 11 days, I reall thought I was about to cry, it was like hearing them for the first time

GO FOR IT! :wacky:

Lol, that's silly, if you don't like their songs anymore you're just tired of them. By being tired of them you'll not listen to them for a long time by definition anyway, so if you REALLY LUB them you'll like them again later. I mean, logically...

well no im not sick of them at all! but i don't want to get sick of them so i thought this would be a good way to do it?

I did this about a month ago. I stopped listening to them for 2 weeks. And once I listened to the after that, it felt like a new love. But, nothing can be compared till after you see a concert, then you get really excited and all butterflyee when you hear them. :wacky:

When I discover a new band I usually don't listen to Coldplay for awhile.

Yah my real love started after i went to the concert in toronto, i always liked them and like i bought viva the day it came out and listen to the whole album for like two year but after the concert i was CRAZY about them!

I listen to a lot of bands, so I never get sick of Coldplay. Well, SOMETIMES I need a little break, such as listening to U2 songs when I get ready for school rather than Coldplay..... but they have been my favorite band for 9 years.

I've never even considering doing this, I'd only be able to last for about 5 minutes

I've been listening to Coldplay about 95% exclusively for over a year and a half :uhoh: But I'm not tired of them at all, I have over 350 Coldplay songs on my iPod so I can always switch it up :D

... but yes, I'm crazy :P

Yah out of 100 songs i listen to about 90 are coldplay, im glad that no one has gotten sick of them yet!

Haha I kind of take a break!! I always listen to at least one song everyday! I don't want to get tired of them either. Sometimes days are Coldplay days and sometimes they aren't.

I have sometimes felt tired of them, but its not always the music.:wacko:

I think if you listen to like one or two songs everyday than you won't get tired or them, you won't feel crazy because you haven't heard any Coldplay. And then like if its a Coldplay day than you could like listen to a album or like as many songs as you want, and you will LOVE it even more. And I also listen to all kinds of music and my other favorite songs. But I am most careful with Coldplay because it is my favorite.

Well I hope this helps. Then again it could just be a really boring story.

:)

Yeah ever since I started liking Coldplay I began noticing a pattern with my other obsessions (Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Star Wars, etc.) After I splurged all my time and attention on them they got old fast. So I'm careful not to O.D. on the Coldplay or they'll end up in the Had-bin *bad attempt at humor*. But I still like Star Wars and SSBB.

A break is healthy, unless you're really obsessed and can listen to Coldplay 24/7 without getting tired of it. :)

haha, that's me!

I don't listen to coldplay 24/7 all yr long..

i had given coldplay a very long break before viva la vida, now i have nonstop listened to them since viva came out. i occasionally listen to others like Muse though. ill plan to give them a break but i so far havent had the strength to listen to other stuff. especially since i have finally downloaded the safety e.p!

There's no way I can't take a break from the band. However, there are times when I don't actually get to listen to one of their songs when I'm listening to my MP3. When that happens, I just listen to one of my Coldplay ringtones to satisfy my craving. :laugh3:

I can manage take a break from listening to Coldplay for a long time. Because I have some few bands that I love as much as Coldplay.

Oh no, impossible!!!:D

Im having a break too. I just bought Jay-Z's new album and might I add it's bloody brilliant! Have been listening to that and Empire of the Sun mostly in the last couple of weeks.
