 OOOhhhhhh, that is fantastic! I love how she kept asking him, as though maybe he was mistaken!

I know!!! Like she thinks maybe he can't remember if he was in it or not!

Yeah, I came across a couple of skits and re-makes of it, but no actual scene from the movie - what's that all about? I was sure someone would have put it up there

must be the studios and all their caring about copyrights and silly things like that

Anyway, other than In Your Eyes, I really didn't love the soundtrack. A couple of good songs- Depeche Mode, Red Hot Chili Peppers, but the rest were just OK, I thought.

btw, you're Allison, right?

Have you seen Serendipity? That's probably my favorite John Cusack movie.

Yes, I'm Alison :)

No, I haven't seen Serendipity :(

aw, well then you must make that your next task! :P

Seriously, it's really great... to be sure, it's a romantic comedy (and all that that implies), but John Cusack and Jeremy Piven are both really good in it. It's got several genuinely funny moments and lots of scenes that are quite touching. :wacky: I'd definitely recommend it!

Don't get me started on Jeremy Piven... I love Ari Gold!!! :D

Hey Jenn :)

Hope you enjoy Serendipity... it seems like it's always on somewhere!

and I also love how Joan is in all of (or nearly all of) his movies. I haven't seen America's Sweethearts... is she in that one?

and in my browsing around this morning, I came across this article with Cameron Crowe discussing using "In Your Eyes" in the movie. Classic, classic scene.

Can't believe it's been out 20 years. wow, I'm old. :(

Thanks Jen, just from the trailer, I know I'll just love it

No Joan is not in America's Sweethearts, but it's still another underrated movie.

I'm old too :P. i was in highschool too when the movie came out. Yikes.

I was looking for a clip of that scene on You Tube and couldn't find it, but I did come across this really funny clip of some stupid girl making a fool of herself whilst interviewing John Cusack:

Wow, that is just sad, just sad. Like he wouldn't remember if he was in American Beauty, I mean Kevin Spacey won an Academy Award for it, I think John would remember if he won an Oscar

@Alison-

 It seems great minds think alike! :P

Oh, I'm sooo far behind on Entourage! :(

anyway, if you like Jeremy Piven and John Cusack, you really have no excuse to NOT see Serendipity. Immediately! :whip:

and ha! I just realized it was 1989 when it came out... which means I was not quite in h.s. yet (was a freshman in 1990). :P But, yeah, still old. :( But at least we're cool, right?

and that interviewer girl! Ahhh, and the irony that she was late for a FILM class of all things!

eh... it's practically christmastime, anyway! ;)

Yes. Give it a few weeks, and it will be worth the wait!:D

Hi Alison, I'm Jenn :) I think the West Wing thread died :(. It just started from the beginning today. Last episode of the last season followed by the pilot. Ok now back to the topic at hand :D...

I stopped watching Entourage, can't really stand watching Adrian Grenier  I think they need to give Kevin Dillon his own show, Drama is hilarious :D ..

oh btw Grosse Pointe Blank is another good Piven/Cusack collaboration, they've got some classic lines in that movie

For anyone up ridiculously late tonight in the UK, Say Anything is on Channel 4 in about half an hour!

I didn't read this thread, but I just have to say I love John Cusack so much!

A couple weeks ago, I spent my weekend rewatching a lot of Cusack films (it's a tradition I started where my friends and I might watch movies all related to a theme or actor) and I forgot how many Cusack movies I love until I had a whole list of them that I felt I just HAD to see again.

I love John Cusack movies, especially 1408 is awesome! I can't waite to see 2012.

aw, well then you must make that your next task! :P

Are they still buddies? I hear that Entourage success has gone to Piven's head and he thinks he is all high and mighty.

@Mika- which movies did you watch?

@Susan- which one is 1408... is that the horror one that came out last year?

:( I hadn't heard this, though it does seem that Jeremy Piven's been doing some jerky things lately. Hope it's not true; they're so funny together.

I'm sure I read somewhere that relations had cooled. Shame...

Yeah, it's awesome! Most of the movie is just John Cusack alone in a evil room.

I finally saw Serendipity, well except for the first 20 minutes. Wonderfully funny and sweet. I must see it again....
