What do you mean??:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Like Ioshi said, I just wish people would use their common sense and sometimes show a little more decency.

Some things are better left unsaid and I have come across a lot of stuff which I think is inappropriate or at least needless to be posted. Sometimes even a little disrespectful.

After all this is a public place. Anyone can come here and I wouldn't be surprised if 'journalists' or writers for papers come here to find some gossip to create a new story. It happened on other forums from other bands/singers as well ...

I don't think a general rule is neccessary as Coldplay are not like the Backstreet Boys, Take That or any other kind of 'boy band' with a huge fangirl following (although I have to admit that some threads would make many fangirls proud :laugh3: ).

I reckon' they can mainly lead a normal life without being harrassed by paps. At least Guy, Jonny & Will can do so. :)

And IMO Chris is mostly attacked by paps not because he is the SINGER of Coldplay but more because of the fact that he's married to a Hollywood actress. I could be wrong about this as well ...

Official forums (meaning run by the artist themselves) often have a so called privacy rule which asks the users not to discuss the members private lifes/families aso.

But as this is a forum run by fans and as there are no general rules about the privacy issue fans should use their brain and common sense and stop posting about specific topics.

If this doesn't work and admins and moderators think that the privacy issue is getting out of control, then there should general rules about the privacy issues be set up.

And honestly speaking I don't see why this (the privacy issue which is practised on 'official forums') shouldn't be practised on a forum run by fans as well.

At least that would show some respect to the artist and their families/friends :)

However, as I know from experience, if a forum/community has too many rules people stay away and search for another platform to discuss the topic.

So I am calling upon people's common sense and decency to use their brain, re-read the post before hitting the 'post reply' button and that's it :)

And saying, people shouldn't go to certain threads if they don't want to read discussions about private issues is a lame excuse IMO.

Surely the guys know how to deal with fame as they chose their career and the situation slowly evolved.

But their families/friends didn't choose to be in the public eye or being followed/shaddowed by paps/crazy fans so have some respect and let these people lead a normal life without stalking them.

That is totally true! I've experienced this too however the matter at hand was taking the privacy issue a bit too far IMO.

I'm in complete agreement with everything you said there ;)

The main thing to me is how the information/images/details are obtained. If it's found while the band members are in the public arena, and if during a private moment permission is granted to some photographer/journalist, then I would say that's fine. But information obtained by spying on people in their private residences, that's a definite wrong. George Orwell presaged those sorts of problems, and not just for famous people - for all of us, really!

But information obtained by spying on people in their private residences, that's a definite wrong.

EXACTLY MY POINT! This should be highlighted

That is totally true! I've experienced this too

What happened? Was someone stalking you?:stunned:

I agree with you Lore.. I think it is a bit scary,

that so many know so much about the bandmembers

and their families... I have never thought about

their family life or life besides Coldplay other than

that I knew Chris is married to Gwyneth...

but you get all the information thrown in your face

inhere.. Sometimes to much.. I love them for their

work within music.. and people inhere are basicly

fans of them because of their music and nothing

to do with their familylife... that must have been

an interest that showed on later on...

So I think we must remember to adore their music

and work within music as a band and individual persons

.. not their families. It's up to the band themselves

to take care for and have interest in them.. :nice:

  • 2 weeks later...

your all such heros for believing but i think that being famous would suck, everyone watching every move you make etc

Lore, I pretty much agree with you. I try not to discuss the family lives of the band. It's sort of creepy, and honestly I'm not really interested in that stuff anyways. That's there own business. But if others are interested, than that's alright too. Just as long as they aren't acting stalkerish.
