RDJ is the BEST!! He can play ANYthing!! And I hated the old movie(s). This looks about a thousand times better. :P I never read a Sherlock Holmes book :shame: :facepalm: but I've seen the old series...which I don't like much! Robert Downey Jr is literally my favorite actor EVER, so of course I'm going to say no one has ever played Sherlock Holmes better. It's true. I was a little weary about Rachel McAdams as Irene Adler, but honestly she did really well. It's AMAZING. If you haven't read the books, you probably should to appreciate it more.
