Guest howyousawtheworld
Some people in the music world are expecting sooner or later that Coldplay will provide EMI's greatest sucker punch and eventually leave them. What impact will it have on the record company if they lose their biggest act in recent generations to another one? Also if Coldplay leave EMI, who do they turn to? Or do they start up their own record company. Heck they've got the money to do it!
BerrymanGirl1
:thinking:If they do leave I think they would just go with another recording company.
Tonsu
They'll release their music another way, just as successfully.Ā Who cares what happens to EMI (apart from EMI staff and shareholders)?

coldplayisawesome
they should start their own company. :awesome:Ā and EMI would probably go cry in a corner, then sign some crappy people to TRY to fill Coldplay's shoes (which they won't succeed in doing). :P
Darlene_Ihnfsa
another singer i follow left the company and went to another one that is runned by an ex-producer of the first company  reasons: the company forced him to tour more than he wanted and forbid him to made a double album. changes: he has kept his style and is his BOSS.Ā for coldplay, if it may happen, but if iwere them either i would have bought lots of actions of EMI so the producers/company can tell them ( :whatever: ) few about what to do, or i would run my own company or a middle third option, i would stick with EMI but be my producer.Ā is not the first band that does that and won't be the last one. MrMagpie
Guy Hands is a greedy bastard. I hate the money sucking machine of EMI and I really hope that they leave and either start their own label or sign with a label that isn't so corporate and corrupted. karenc
I reckon they'd think about going it on their own, other bands have so I don't see why they couldn't...
PolarMonkey
i think it's more likely they'll just to their own thing as in record their own albums themselves w/o any music label to control them than go to another music label who'll only want to sign them to an x years/albums deal. Keddie
1.) I don't care whatsoever what will happen to EMI if Coldplay ever left them. I hate record companies.Ā 2.) If Coldplay did leave EMI, they'd definitely go independent. It would leave them free to be even more creative.
Black Rose
Set up their own record company either buy the rights for their back catalog or sit back and watch as EMI milk their back catalog dry.
