Computer problems.

Featured Replies

I'm getting a lot of not responding pages when surfing the net, when i first bought the computer about 6 months ago,it was fine....now it does it all the time!!!

Any ideas?

and it's also extremely slow....it's dual core 3GHZ processor,with now 4GB Ram,512MB video card.500GB HDD.

I think it's about the Internet connection, not about your computer. :uhoh:

I'm not sure, I'm not a PC whiz though. Just an opinion. :)

Hi Rick, did you check for viruses/malware?

The computer could become slow when it has lots of processes running in the background. Might as well check the running processes on the windows task bar (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC).

I'd make sure you're connections alright first (maybe call the company and tell them the problem).

Then I'd do a virus scan. :nice: Good luck!!!

If it's still going very slow for you check your processes in the task manager.

There's probably nothing out of the ordinary, but its not going to do any harm in checking.

Your computer was very much like ours,

Very slow and the internet not responding,

but the connection istelf was grand because it was wroking into the laptop.

Basically with ours there was program / virus that kept opening itself and slowing everything down.

And then it crashed and f-ed up >.<

I would say do the virus scan too.

whats your OS?

A 2x3GHz processor with 4 GB of RAM usually doesn't run slow after only 6 months... not to mention extremely slow...

unless you littered your Hard Disc with lots of tools and applications which you don't really need and now slow down your PC.

What do you mean by not responding pages? Do they timeout when trying to access them?

Are these specific websites like google.com or does this seem to appear randomly?

What do you mean by extremely slow? When do you experience it? Is it right after booting up behaving so slowly or does it take a while until it becomes like that?

^that's quite a lot of questions, eh? :wink3:

(der rajo hat mich nie soviel gefragt... xD)

I think Rickie uses XP as he dislikes Vista.

Scan for any nasties lurging underneath using your computer as a zombie
