Postcards From Far Away = LeftRightLeftRightLeft

You're kidding, right?

Both yes and no.. I didn't mean opinions about music and othet stuff, I mean the opinions about other people. We don't necessarily need to say that people are morons. Sometimes it's better to keep quiet.

It's like the guy who said I was an idiot because I don't like Hallelujah

I still find that hard to accept.

That I don't like the song or that he/she said I'm an idiot? :)

its the same thing, just because your not seeing them in person dosn't give anyone the right to be mean to someone else.

This!

Wwoooowwww... it is 'interesting' to see how this thread has progressed. Ugh. :freak:

For those of you who have learned how to play PFFA (like myself and secretspy), then you know why KingChris may draw a connection to LRLRL. It's easy to spew off "f** no" if you don't really know where he is coming from. When learning it, I thought geez, this is just a bunch of back and forth and back and forth. Quite frankly I like how KingChris went one step further to theorize the origin of LRLRL. I do remember seeing somewhere that Chris really wanted to name a track, or even the LP or EP (I forget which), LRLRL, but that the title did not get the 'Will Champion Seal of Approval'. But he was 'allowed' to give that name to the live cd. I don't know... maybe it was supposed to be the name of a track. On a curious note, if you go to the widgets section on coldplay.com, there is a picture of the sheet music that was scribbled down for this song (which is a little different than the final version), and it looks like it was crumpled up and chucked in the trash. In the upper left corner, you can see where "Postcards from Far Away" is written; but it is written over something else that has been erased... and it doesn't look like the same thing (particularly the 'Postcards' part)... hmmm...

But I suppose only the band, and possibly the Oracle, will know for sure. I hope the Oracle answers your question KingChris! :idea2:

Wow, quite a response. I just think whoever played this did a beautiful job :)

That's some great playing right there. Thread got a bit carried away though...

Very interesting observation, KingChris. I am learning how to play PFFA at the moment as well, and I never thought about the LRLRL thing. Interesting :nice:

I've leaned all but the last part of Postcards and I never even thought of that. I don't know if its true or not but it certainly makes sense because leftrightleftrightleft is how it's played. Nothing stupid about it KingChris

Nice cover. Famous Old Painters is on the list of material for the next album so it didn't change and it's clear LRLRL didn't either.

Thanks for the understanding, of some people :p

You're welcome :nice::P

I love this song :)

I can play it too!

I'm not so sure Famous Old Painters will be included on the next album. Especially since they always want to go in a brand new direction for the new thing they're doing. The fact that Famous Old Painters was mentioned in Prospekt's journals twice gave an impression they spent a lot of time working on it. But something was obviously amiss, perhaps it was a song which was 'typical' Coldplay, a straight hit and remember they said they left all the could-be-hits off the album. Although I myself hope it will still see the light of the day!

But we will, if, of course someone from the record company doesn't steal the tapes, never hear LeftRightLeftRightLeft.

I think if there was anything to steal, it's Brian Eno's computer which has got every single take of every possible song on it.

Hey now, don't give us any ideas... :wink3:

I've 'favorite' this vid in my youtube account for quite some time. Nice playing, indeed.

I see the logic in the connection between LRLRL and Postcards, I guess it is possible, seeing they are never satisfied with their work :P
