November 28, 200916 yr I'd say yellow for the sound. But I always thought that the message Coldplay try to get across is best represented in Spies and Everything's not lost. To me, Coldplay is about hope. Even when at first glance a situation seems hopeless, there is always light at the end of the tunnel.
November 28, 200916 yr I don't know what song to pick, personally I love Viva La Vida. I think it all depends on the person, but then again, everyone who tells me they don't like Coldplay also tell me they only like Clocks. So maybe Clocks.

I think it all depends on the person, but then again, everyone who tells me they don't like Coldplay also tell me they only like Clocks. So maybe Clocks. Or maybe NOT Clocks then. If Clocks was representative for the Coldplay sound, the people who like it would also like the other songs.
November 28, 200916 yr Maybe Speed of Spound, See You Soon or Talk. It would depend on whether the person likes piano, guitar, bass, drum solos, exct,.This.
November 28, 200916 yr I think that for someone who is not a big FAN, I mean, for people who know Cp's songs thanks to the radio, or Mtv....the songs which epitomize them are Viva la Vida, Yellow, In my place. My personal opinion, as Fan, is that the ones who represent their sound could be Fix you and Clocks, but I'm not even sure of them since Cp always try to change their sound
December 5, 200916 yr In My Place. It's arguably in my top 3 and is one of their best. NEVER GETS OLD It's very "Coldplay." I actually think Viva is so different from the rest that none of the songs are what I think when i think Coldplay...except for maybe VLV cause that's their most mainstream song.
December 5, 200916 yr The Scientist. Chris' piano, his voice, the wonderful musicianship of Jonny, Will and Guy, all rolled up into a gorgeous song. The great thing about Coldplay is that you have so many more songs that epitomize them as a group, you don't have to rely on just one.
December 5, 200916 yr Obvious ones (as in the most "popular" ones) would be Yellow, Fix You, Clocks.....duh. I think Talk is a really good one for this though. Although this is hard because I view each album's style as being so completely different from any of the others.
December 5, 200916 yr I'd say 42 because of the slow beginning with just Chris and the piano and then the absolutely amazing middle part with guitars and drums
December 5, 200916 yr I think I would say Yellow or In My Place :) Both great songs that I don't think ever seem to get old or boring.
December 6, 200916 yr talk would be a good one I think. either version too, they are both really good and have a lot of different components that shows what coldplay really is. I can't decide which version I like better.
December 6, 200916 yr Here I thought Viva La Vida would be mentioned endlessly. Obviously, I'm not saying that's the song that epitomizes Coldplay. If there's a single one, my choice would be Clocks.
December 6, 200916 yr yeah clocks would be a good one too actually. my dad never knows the names to coldplay songs, I have to endlessly repeat the titles, but he refers to clocks as "the magic song" :dozey:
