My brother said It was the best movie ever,

and that it had everything.

No doubt it was a great movie but I wouldn't name it the best movie ever.

I liked the way it made humans look so bad. I walked out of the theater hating humans.

I saw this movie w/ one of my friends and he brought up an interesting point about how the movie/james cameron is contradictory. Apparently James Cameron has mentioned many times that he is against how technology is moving forward and of course your can see how this is prevelant in Avatar in the sense that the Humans rely on technology while the aliens rely on nature. The contradictory thing about this is that if he is so much against technology, then why did he wait all those years for the technology to catch up to speed to make this movie?

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed this movie and really thought the visuals were incredible (though story and acting lacked). I just thought that this was an interesting point that he brought up.

Would you rather live in a world like in Avatar or the world you and I live in?

Saw this movie Thursday and it's absolutely brilliant, my only complaint was that it was a bit too lengthy. :P Also, if you go to see the 3D version, don't look at other people or you'll just burst out laughing.

Personally, I think that this movie was sort of represented (out of the many things it represented :P) that our world is like the one in the movie, but we've gone and just...ruined it?

Me and the husband just saw this movie this past weekend in 3D and we were both amazed. All the effects were very cool and the world James Cameron created for these alien people to live on was incredible....especially in 3D because it felt as if you were immersed in the world yourself.

The acting could've been better and the movie was a bit too long (I developed a headache several hours AFTER I watched it), but other than that......it was a pretty impressive movie.

I think that was a message too.

But at the same time I would leave Earth in a heart beat if I could live there :smug:

Okay, so I finally went to see this movie because everyone kept going on about how this is 'The best movie of 2009' so I went to see it and it was..very interesting and the first thing I thought when it finished was "Is this to promote Green?" It was a really impressive movie and just like everyone else said..I was also amazed with the effects. There was a scene where I physically moved my hand trying to move the flower/leaves out of the way:laugh3:  and it was a bit too long and it also made my eyes hurt.

I want a Jake Sully :awesome:

Maan I didn't notice that ! :stunned:

Well it's still more beautiful than Pocahontas ^^

Seriously, it has the originality and complexity of a kindergarten play.

the effects were a lot better than Pocahontas though which it was what it amazed most people anyway... :shifty:

I saw this, it was awesome, but I almost had a puke moment from all the twirling and circled angles haha. I also saw it in 3-D, it was killer. I'm not even a Sci-fi person! =O

big fucking deal if it's has a storyline like pocahontas :shifty:

it was still a really good movie with amazing special effects :nice: it was well worth seeing.

but that's just it, I'm saying it was a really bad movie with amazing special effects. It's pretty and gimmicky and cool, but it does absolutely nothing for film.

well i still liked it :nice:

i can understand how someone can get annoyed with it..

i guess it's a question of taste.

i liked the story because generally i like mushy love stories..

i like colors so the effects in 3D made it even better for me

all in all.. logically like any other movie

there is the picky audience & then the not so picky ones.

personally a bad movie to me is something in the lines of "superbad" or a movie with too many action scenes.

Superbad is supercool.

One of the best comedies of the decade. I usually hate 'high school' comedies, but this one was very original and funny. I even went so far as to make my own McLovin ID and i'm planning to print it these days and to put it in my wallet.

as i said before.

everybody got to have different taste. what a boring world if we all liked & disliked the same things.

But when you write this:

there is the picky audience & then the not so picky ones.

It does imply that those who are 'picky' dont like the film because theyre intentionally being stubborn, instead of their opinion that it might just be a crap film.

ah well all i meant is that some have higher standards & expected more from the movie.
