You shouldn't be depressed that no one has decided to give you something on a day that's motivated purely by money, there's plenty of other things to be depressed about, choose one. You don't need a special day to appreciate all that goes on but you don't need to completely reject it either... it's a celebration of love ultimately and it's your choice to include the "consumerist bullshit" that goes along with it.
