Hello music lovers,

 

I'd just like to tip you off to a band I truly believe will make it big. My buddies's best friend is the guitarist and he knows the singer well too. They all went to college(the singer went to Stanford) after high school, and broke up shortly, then decided they wanted to pursue their dream so they put education on hold. They have already opened for Kings of Leon.

 

They are called "Young the Giant", but they just changed their name. They used to be known as "The Jakes". They just signed a record deal and are working on recording their album with grammy-award winning producer Joe Chiccarrelli.

 

Here's their Shake My Hand EP they released when they were just 18 fresh out of high school. It's really good stuff. The song "Cough Syrup" is amazing.

I got into them around Christmas when My Body was free on iTunes. Going to see them next week in Orlando...$12 ticket=hell yeah!

I Love Apartment and Cough Syrup. I need to redownload this album. My cpu crashed and my music went with it! I didnt get a chance to get a feel of the whole album before it happened

I really love this band.... they are really great live too.

These guys rock! I've been listening to them since their debut in 2010, and now their second album is unbelievable! I just listened to the free stream of the album on iTunes, and I can't stop listening.

 

It's hard to believe that they are from my hometown, and went to the same high schools that I go to now. :O

I am also an aspiring musician going into college, and these guys inspire me and make me believe that a career in the music industry is truly possible.

 

You guys should check out their sophomore album, I can't even explain how great it is.
