Uruguay look in bad shape for the semis, Suarez and Fucile suspended Godin and Lugano doubtful.

Everyone who was booing Uruguay during the PK's will be booing doubly in the semi against Holland.

While I don't want either team to lose, I'm slightly afraid of a Holland-Germany final. I won't know who to root for.

 

Genuinly Germany v Holland is the biggest rivalry in European football and probably world football. They detest each other with a vengence! Can't believe it's actually a possibility! Dutch every day!

On the replays it looked like Suarez could have headed it, but i guess he instinctively went into panic and beat the ball away with his hands.

Have to say both Ghana penalties were poor as well. The rule - either go for placement to the left corner, right corner, down the middle or go for power and smash it in the top of the net. Between the middle and corner is a no no!

Well I disagree. It used to be the biggest rivalry in European football but this has changed a lot during the last 10 years or so. I'm often in the Netherlands, because I live close to the border and one of my friends studies there and two years ago Dutch and Germans ended up cheering for both teams. I also know a lot of Germans who like the Dutch team these days. :)

 

Therefore I'm glad the Netherlands won the match against Brazil! Now I'm excited about Argentina-Germany.
