Ole Ole Ole Ole Ole! Viva la Furia Roja!

oh god, redcard again?!

Goal or redcard? Oh god chiquidracula (referee) you love protagonism!

Harsh sending off didn't seem to mean to clip Torres even than why on earth did Torres stay down for so long with such an innocuous challenge. This ref is the same one as the Germany - Australia match no surprise with the flurry of cards and dodgy sending offs in both matches so far.

I hope Chile pull one back to make this game more interesting.

Chile was playing better, 'til two defensive mistakes and a referee mistake completely fucked with them. Now they depend on Switzerland not beating Honduras.

I agree with Navegador, Chile was playing much better than Spain until those defensive mistakes that ended on goal. By the way, this is a great match so far.

HOLY CRAP!! I went to the bathroom and missed the goal :laugh3:

GO CHILE!!!

This game is very interesting.

Can somebody please tell me what's so special about Donovan's goal?

I see it everywhere T__T

It's getting annoying.

Meant that USA move into the round of 16. And it happened in the 91st minute. If they didn't score, they wouldn't have moved on.

I'm glad Spain and Chile are both in round before quarter finals.

Chile is playing against Brazil next monday and Spain is playing against Portugal on tuesday!

For round before quarter finals:

Mexico vs Argentina

Uruguay vs South Korea

Japan vs Paraguay

United States vs Ghana

Germany vs England

Netherlands vs Slovakia

Brasil vs Chile

Spain vs Portugal

2 interesting matches with 2 Southamerican teams and two European teams from neighbouring countries meeting each other.

reading some online articles there could be a large contingent of US and England fans at their respective stadiums, only problem is will the thousands of fans from the two largest supported countries logistically be able to swap their tickets in time!!?

Which ones you mean?

The only neighboring countries facing this round are Spain and Portugal.

EDIT: Brasil and Chile? okay I agree.

I thought it was just an extraordinary goal.

Meh. I don't like him tbh.

Erm.. Spain is dead against Portugal so I should start supporting Brazil or Netherlands now.

Briggins supports Brasil and likes peer pressure.

It happened in the 91st minute and basically resolved the frustration of having 2 goals disallowed, and tons of other opportunities barely missed (not to mention Dempsey getting elbowed in the face added to the anger).

It wasn't about Donovan so much about the play itself, it was like a perfect nike commercial, starting with Tim Howard's throw and including touches by Altidore and Dempsey.

HAHA!

Around The Horn just referenced radiohead in reference to Ghana's 'black stars'. One analyst started singing the chorus to black star, the host starts singing along, and a second later he asked if anyone else got the radiohead reference and they just shrugged.

Torres went down and stayed down like he got speared by someone.
