I've been to the website before, apparently Obama's been campaigning for it as much as he was for chicago's olympic bid. While It would be incredible and all, it's just unrealistic IMO considering we just hosted it 4 cups ago. I sincerely doubt they'd let us have it in '18 or '22 when much more prominent soccer nations will not have hosted it once in a period that we host it twice.

Bill Clinton was in a Usa match

Usa wants the 2018

Bill Clinton is staying for the USA vs Ghana match too, what a great way to get out of the legs of Hillary.

Obama said he would come if we made it to the round of 16...not that I give two shits about him...

wooo New Zealand unbeaten. Sure, we didn't make it to the next round but who was expecting that anyway...

Or into the legs of Monica? :inquisitive:

this is the reason why italy have gone from world champions to the joke of the footballing world. their shameless simulation, diving and acting is pathetic. their elimination from the cup almost makes up for the socceroos elimination. i cannot wait for the day when an italian player breaks a leg and nobody gives a damn cos they think he is acting.

this isn't a new phenomenon

and the south americans are just as bad at diving. they just do it better

its not so much the diving its more so the play acting that pisses me off. i know that its been part of football for a long time and isnt going anywhere. but to behave like that in the colours of your country is pretty low especially when the whole world is watching. and i really dont think Blatter and his buddies have any intention of doing anything about it, not that i expect anything from a man who thinks the abundance of human error and absence of video technology in football makes it more interesting.

whilst i have supported australia this tournament (along with a couple of other teams with blackburn players) i think i have a slight bias against your statements because in cahill you have one of the most vicious players around. he's scum.

video technology isn't needed other than for seeing if the ball crosses the line, and even that is dubious. i'd don't know if i'd be in favour of keeping football as something that can be played at grass roots level as similar to the way it is at world cup level since you can't have goal line technology in a children's football team. or if you improve the standard of decisions by adding this to professional tournaments. it's a tough call. i certainly wouldn't bring it in for dives etc, it would make the game about 150 minutes long, and there are plenty of things that can't be proved.

cahill?? he is soft!! now in craig moore you have a maniac, the man seems more interested in clean leg breaks than clean sheets.

i think video technology can be brought in for suspect goals first. it will take 30secs to check a goal or disallowed goal on video so i really dont see how it will slow down the game. i think we should remember that zidane was sent off in the world cup final after checking video replays cos none of the officials actually saw what happened. if the same had been done with a few dubious red cards in this world cup it would of been far less controversial.

anyways. of greater importance right now is brazil v portutal. i have high expectations of this game even though brazil are kaka-less.
