HorrificAttack
Are "Book Reports" an American thing? They get them all the time on American TV shows, I've genuinely never had to read a book and then write about it, we studied them in class sure, but that was different to what this is. muzika
we have to read pems/books/stories and write so-called "interpretations". There's nothing worse than that

I don't think it's just an American thing. I had to write quite a few when I went to school in Switzerland.

Possibly, most standard English classes here consist of a research paper, some kind of creative writing assignment and a literary analysis of a book everyone has to read. Matter-Eater Lad
I like English classes because they're usually very easy. I'm good a bullshitting. However in English 1 the "professor" was a psycho bitch who hated men and was quite clear about that. I only got a C in that class. English 2, so far I have a 95. pickle
I do that with short stories we have to read sometimes. :disappointed: I think that's why I missed a few questions on the last test. :uhoh: I haven't had to do a standard book report in a while, we just discuss the story and then sometimes write an essay about it. EmmaLouiseSmyth
We study a novel and compare it with another type of text ( either play of film ) and then thats one of the question in our exam. I don't think i'd be able to read a book for a deadline and write an essay on it D: fuck it, i didn't even read the ten pages we were asked to read for class today. Mig-El
This is the worst thing ever I thought Ild never do this til I got to college, this class is awful the teacher takes it as the most important class of all when it's just one of those extra classes that are not related to my career. a_face_of_light
I did that with Twilight. What did you say?, it was about a bunch moral fairy sparkly gay vampires falling for a teenage girl, the end. This doing a book report without actually reading it is pretty easy. No actually, I did an analysis of how Edward's treatment of Bella fit every single commonly agreed-upon definition of an abusive relationship, it definitely wasn't a "book report," I've never actually had to do one of those. a_face_of_light
Twilight has got to be one of the worst vampire stories ever written. I can't even understand why alot of teenage girls love it, yet alone any other demographics.
