LP5's Style?

Yes, I know I've made too many LP5 threads, but, does anyone want to to try and guess the style Coldplay's next release will be like? Chris said Viva La Vida would not have much piano and less guitar, and we all know how that turned out.

But, if what Chris is saying is true about their next release, will it be something new and original, or will it be closer to a Parachutes II?

Opinions? :)

it would be something new, probably Parachutes II...with Viva they became MUCH bigger and MUCH better! So I guess LP5 will be about turning smaller and MUCH better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This! But in my opinion, LP5 could be practically any style and it would be good.

I don't think it will be a Parachutes II, as Chris has said that it will be unlike anything they've ever done before, but he also said they would be trying to connect more with their die-hard fans (like me :laugh3:!) than they did with Viva... although, as a die-hard fan, I found Viva pretty incredible, it was just that millions of people viewed Coldplay in a different way than they had before  And I found that wasn't a bad thing, as how could your favourite band getting more fans be bad? Unless of course you're 'indie' and start to hate anything that 'sells out' to mainstream audiences - which really annoys me :veryangry2: Oh well... I think, as someone has already said, anything they do will be amazing (unless it's country or rap, in which case I'm very sorry but I will have to disown them :laugh3:) If it's in a vaguely similar style to what they usually produce then it's fine by me, of course new ideas are fantastic but as long as it's not completely removed from the Coldplay we know and, in most cases, love :D EDIT: I seem to remember he also said it will be quite acoustic... (Sorry if I'm just repeating things everyone's heard before in interviews etc!)

Looking at the last couple of songs they've "released" or performed, like Death will never conquer, Spanish Rain, A message 2010 etc, I think they're going for the more acoustic/folk kind of music. Like Chris says on the Leftrightleftrightleft album before playing DWNC: "This is the moment of the concert when we show you how good our band really could have been.."

Also, by looking at the pictures from R#42's blog you can see them in the studio in the same line-up as when they perform these songs, with 3 guitars and 1 bass.

That's my guess =D

i imagine it will have like sort of a more concentrated mood sort of like now my feet wont touch the ground mixed with a kind of parachutes vibe(accept not as timid) and then chris will pull some other beautiful line out of his ass that no one was expecting :guy: :will: :jonny: :chris:
