A Rush of Blood to the Head?

Featured Replies

I am 100% positive that this has been asked many times before, but honestly, what is the cover of AROBTTH supposed to be? A half-face? Abstract art?

I mean, I look at the singles for AROBTTH, and I can easily tell what they are, but the main release - it still boggles me.

In my opinion, its a head and because of the rush half of it is blurred, like its moving.

oh I must sound like a wacko:uhoh::lol:

ooh, ooh, there's a thing...

the cover for AROBTTH is just some guy, but the covers for the singles are the boys...

if i can find that link...

I don't know who's the person of AROBTTH...

I know Clocks is Chris, GPASUYF is Guy, In My Place I think is Jonny and The Scientist is Will.. Right?

Cover art

The cover art for A Rush of Blood to the Head was designed by photographer Sølve Sundsbø. Sundsbø had been hired by fashion magazine Dased and Confused in the late 1990s to produce something with a "technological feel, something all white". As an artist, he tried to do "stuff that hasn't been done before, which is virtually impossible"; he suggested taking shots using a three-dimensional scanning machine.

The model for the shot wore an all-white makeup because it produces the "best results"; for the image, the model wore a twill-coloured cape. The computer could not read the colours so it was replaced with spikes, and the head in the image was chopped because the machine only scanned 30 centimetres. The editor of the magazine liked the image and eventually featured it in one of their publications.

Martin saw the image in the magazine and approached Sundsbø for permission to use the image as the cover of A Rush of Blood to the Head. For the album's singles, Martin asked Sundsbø what he could do; the latter suggested scanning the head of each member of the band.

The album cover was among the ten chosen by the Royal Mail for a set of "Classic Album Cover" postage stamps issued in January 2010.

Wikipedia:D

Maybe the cover of the main album is a composite of all four!

it is!

I can see the faces in all but the clocks single, can someone help me out or at least tell what to look at to help me see the light?

Imagine Chris standing over you and his head is sorta tilted up. Does that help a bit? :)

EDIT: Actually, the Oracle explained it in a more articulate and better way. I'll go find it.

Q. What is the cover for the Clocks supposed to be?

Everything else connected to a A Rush Of Blood To The Head is a face. But Clocks however stands out.

The Oracle replies:

Two Clocks questions in one day! Anyway, if you look at the cover and imagine you are underneath looking up, you can certainly spot the nose and other features.

There we go.

 Yeah, the artwork confused me too. I thought it was actually some weird, warped clock, with the second and minute hands.

Ha, that's really cool how the singles are the faces of Chris, Guy, Jonny and Will. I'll have to look at 'em again!

Can anybody explain The scientist? Is that Will???
