After reading the thread on drugs i have decided to explore some even deeper questions, Im in a thinking mood. I want to get other peoples opinions and just get some general kind of debate going.

Question 1. Is there a God?

Question 2. What is the meaning of life?

Question 3. Left, middle or right wing politics?

I realise these questions are nothing new but I think they are still relevant. Ill give my views later.

I think it's up to you to make yourself your own opinion.

To me there isn't any god, but that's something you have to decide by yourself :nice:

And errm... I'm not gonna discuss about the meaning of life, too lazy^^ We're just here, that's it!

God, I'm not sure, I'd like to believe that there is something watching over us but I'm not so sure.

I Think we'll discover the meaning of life once we die , which is a bit late but it's simply too big a question for us.

And Mehhh to Politics.

You know what I've realized, a lot of Coldplay fangirls and fanboys are coming over to The Lounge.

Ok so you cant be a coldplay fan and step into the sacred lounge? this is a coldplay fansite what do you expect?????????? Its stranger to me that non coldplay fans even come on this website. I totally reject the term fangirl/fanboy btw.

Anyway, alot of people here seem to think this is a personal sort of question, thats totally fine, i just wonder why people think that? My view is that there is nothing once we are dead, just as there is nothing before we are born, I think there are two ways of interpreting the question "what is the meaning of life" one being on a personal level, to which my answer would be whatever makes you happy, the other would be on much larger scale, "what is the purpose of life" to which i would answer, there isnt one, there is no guiding hand, there is no aim or goal, just the desire to survive which is of course because of genes and evolution.

I think there is no evidence for god and thus it should not be believed. I like the quote by Carl Sagan, "extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence". So although i would not commit to saying "there is certainly no god" i think it is extremely unlikey.

My view on politics is that equality should be at the heart of everything. I consider myself a humanist, but not on the left, maybe somewhere in the middle because i believe criminals should get tougher punishments, certainly in the UK.

Well thats my view, my opinions are not set in stone, i am always open to change if a better idea comes along.

Calm down you idiot.

I seriously think most of the people on this forum cannot communicate in real life so thats why they come on here, what sort of planet do you live on where you think that would be acceptable to say to someone in real life?

Im sorry if I wrote too many words or my views differ from yours or i put too much detail into my post. I wont do it again. HOWS THAT?

1. I'm not a person who worries about such things.

2. I believe life is what each individual person makes of it. It's not something that we necessarily know right away, but we all eventually find some sense of purpose in something.

3. If anything, I'm an anarchist. I feel like that's a harsh term, though, and I'm not sure if it's the correct term for my views on politics, so I don't use it.

I think I know what you mean, the governments of today seem to be separate from the people, they need to realise that they serve the people I think.

lol so you are an atheist to all those other Gods? why?

Because the majority of them revolve around the same ideology. All of those other Gods present (like in Hinduism, for example) are worshiped in order to protect and serve some purpose on earth; the god of sun, water, nature, beauty, etc.

Why the diversity, seeing that you can have only one God that can serve all of those other Gods' purposes?

i kinda like that idea

Politics... I DGAF

and the purpose of life can be summed up with this

to laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.

Because although those religions may have only one god, they differ from beliefs and practices to other religions.

Question 1. Is there a God?

It is my personal belief, yes.

Question 2. What is the meaning of life?

Love. This is the only question which I'm 100% positive I know the answer to.

Question 3. Left, middle or right wing politics?

I'm a Libertarian/Anarcho-Capitalist/Voluntaryist. I am convinced that government is not necessary.
