Long Live Life
Coldplay - and Chris especially - have claimed to be fans of many bands over the years - who and what would you like to see covered by them (to my knowledge - they've only covered Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas to date ??) I'd like to see Pet Shop Boys' West End Girls covered. They could get Jay-Z for the talking rapping sections and Chris' voice would be great for the choruses. Being Coldplay as well, they'd do a stunning video of their home city of London (just in time for the 2012 Olympics!) Also Chris has said they're fan of PSB and they can return the flattery of VLV done by the PSB ! What would you like to see done?
lovers.in.nj
Coldplay has actually covered a lot of songs. Off the top of my head I can think of: Hot In Herre by Nelly Songbird by Oasis Fight For Your Right (To Party) by The Beastie Boys I'm A Believer by The Monkees Here Comes The Sun by The Beatles Billie Jean by Michael Jackson Barbie Girl by Aqua Lost Highway by Leon Payne Ring Of Fire by Johnny Cash Love Me Tender by Elvis Perfect Day by Lou Reed Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong You Only Live Twice oh and they also covered the Wiggles! I for one would love for them to cover something like "Sexy Bitch" by David Guetta or something like that. It'd prove for an interesting cover :laugh3:
KingChris
They should do a Muse song :laugh3:
The Champion
I can see Will Champion giving a hard noise with his awesome drums, the whole band sings "Raise it up, raise it up", then everything is quite, and Chris Martin starts to play his piano and sings: And in the spring, I shed my skin And it blows away with the changing winds The waters turn, from blue to red As towards the sky I offer it. Oh that would be so epic! That's of course Rabbit Heart by Florence + The Machine

Corkus
I'd like to see original songs the most, or at least on their records anyway. That said, I wouldn't mind them covering a Travis song, especially a classic like "Why Does It Always Rain On Me?" I'd like a cover to be of a song that's at least somewhat in their style, as I honestly rather disliked that Billie Jean cover.

Chris also covered the song used for the closing credits of the Extras episode he was in (which name escapes me now). I had no idea they'd covered Perfect Day (love that song) - link anyone? As for covering Travis, perhaps they would cover Why Does it Always Rain on Me? but it would have be tongue in cheek for them to pull it off! Perhaps @ Glastonbury next year? :)

flickahidalgo
I'd have to say 1901 by Phoenix. It would be interesting to see how Coldplay carried out the melody in that song. :wacky:
