A Hard Day's Coldplay -- The Coldplay Movie Game!

Featured Replies

So here's a little diversion while we wait for some more news from Roadie #42 and Anchorman:

Back in the '50s and '60s successful rock acts couldn't avoid making movies. The Beatles no sooner appeared on Ed Sullivan than they were in the studio making "A Hard Day's Night" and "Help!" Elvis had a decent movie career and then there were all those bikini movies with Frankie Avalon. Even the Dave Clark Five appeared in "Catch Us If You Can."

What if Coldplay made a movie? Post a quick synopsis of the plot and name the movie after one of Coldplay's songs (or lyrics from a song). I'll get us started:

Taking a runner from a concert, the band gets separated and Will gets left behind with no money, no credit cards, and only his Viva! costume as everyone else jets on to the next show. This comedy shows Will's adventures as he tries to reunite with his band mates, and the band tries to locate Will. Title: LOST!

^ Sounds like it could be fun!

I'll have to think of something and get back to you...

They would take Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends and use it as the basis for a musical. Each song tells the story of a poor king who was dethroned and looking back on his life. Chris is obviously the king (because I say so) and the rest of the guys play various supporting (but still important) roles. Title: I Used To Rule The World.

This happened to that guy in U2 - he got got left behind at the hotel as the band jetted off to the next gig :stunned: :laugh4:

Maybe use that as a reference for your movie?

Back in the early days when Coldplay were just starting to tour, they used to stay at these really cheap and nasty hotels. Guy - meticulous as he's always been - always brought his inflatable mattress and slept on it instead of sleeping on the hotel beds' sheets. One night Chris persuaded him to give up the inflatable mattress and forced him to sleep on one of the hotel's beds, Guy finally gave in and slept on the hotel's bed.

The following morning Guy woke up and noticed that he had been bitten from head to toe by the bed's bugs.
