August 12, 201015 yr Weezer Unveil Hurley Tracklist, Cover Coldplay on Bonus Disc From: http://www.exclaim.ca/articles/generalarticlesynopsfullart.aspx?csid1=146&csid2=844&fid1=48791 We’ve already covered a fair bit about Weezer’s “raw rock”-sounding new album, Hurley, with its absurd album cover and its Coldplay’s “Viva la Vida,” which frontman Rivers Cuomo debuted live last year. It also features the recent World Cup anthem “Represent,” the Yo Gabba Gabba track “All My Friends Are Insects,” plus a new song. The standard edition of Hurley includes ten tracks, includes one named after the dystopian novel Brave New World, plus another called, uh, “Where My Sex?” Hurley was produced by Cuomo along with Shawn Everett, who was also behind the boards for part of Raditude. According to a press release, “Rivers picks up the acoustic guitar on the reinvented power ballad ‘Unspoken’ and the raw ’60s-influenced Mac Davis co-written ‘Time Flies.’ The classic Weezer sound is reignited with songs like ‘Smart Girls,’ ‘Run Away’ and the quirky ‘Where’s My Sex?’” The frontman told Spin, “When we were making Hurley you could just hear the sound of people going into the studio, pressing 'record' and rocking.” Hurley is due out September 14 via Epitaph. August 12, 201015 yr Yep. Apparently it's cropped from a picture Rivers took with him. *ahem* Weezer rant time... Over the past decade, Weezer has been a laughable embarrassment and their only redeeming value has been their album art and some of their song titles, which are so ridiculously bad that they're almost charming. I doubt even a Coldplay cover (which I've seen video of, and it's okay, nothing more) can help salvage them from such a slippery slope, which has not only hit rock-bottom, but has burrowed its way into the inferno of Hell. I try not to let any of that ruin my enjoyment of their first couple albums, though.

August 15, 201015 yr I hope this Weezer album is better than their latest stuff. But I love their cover of VLV so this makes me really happy :wacky::D
