August 16, 201015 yr So, I have to do this summer assignment for my Euro class, and I was hoping you guys could help. :shy: We have to make a list of twenty 'important issues affecting the world today'. So far, I've come up with the BP Oil Spill and the debate over a mosque at Ground Zero. It's kind of funny that's all I have so far, considering I'm on here most of the time and such. :uhoh2: Any suggestions? :nice: edit- I hope this is the right place for this thread, I figured more people would notice it here. :uhoh:
August 16, 201015 yr 1. economic crises? heard about that recently laura? 2. technologies (too fast developed?, well used? how are they recycled? ) 3. global warming!! 4. the panic predictions of the end of the world, (the other day i heard on the news that scientist were worried cause for real an asteroid or something was going to cross near our atmosphere, in 70 years or so) 5. poverty and slavery 6. dictatorships and censorship.
August 16, 201015 yr I'm repeating some that are already said. I heard something about proposal for a one economic world or something like that. Definitely economy must be included. Global warming. Extinction of animals and reasons etc. Racism?

August 16, 201015 yr What about social problems in the West? Drugs, knife crime, teenage pregnancies, gangs, anti-social behaviour etc?
August 16, 201015 yr I mean, issues that are afecting the whole world like economic crises and global warming? Or somethig more specific like drug violence in Mexico? Or the diplomatic problems between Colombia and Venezuela?
August 16, 201015 yr  I'm just trying to come up with some specific examples of this stuff now. :dizzy: Good luck :lips:
August 16, 201015 yr oh I had to do the same thing too :blank: I spoke about the issues above^^^ and also spoke about health issues and gay marriages
August 16, 201015 yr Rapidly increasing population Running out of resources Sea levels rising Sweat shops, child labour Drug trafficking and the sex trade GM foods Cloning; Good or bad? Pesticides Vs. Organic food Sustainability - How can we live more sustainably in a throwaway society? Loss of habitat, deforestation and desertification Increased natural hazards due to Global Warming Hope that helps. What a depressing world.
August 17, 201015 yr You'd get super brownie points for writing about something totally original, look up Burma/Myanmar and the Tamil Tigers in Sri Lanka. The only problem with those two topics is that it's so hard to research reliable information on the situations because of the blackout going on in both countries, maybe you could link that into a real world issue (Look at North Korea).
August 17, 201015 yr You could always do it on "Money markets aren't a accurate measure of liquidity because the global derivatives markets overshadows it."
August 21, 201015 yr funny how you don't hear about Global Warming and green stuff so much when the World is in recession.
