1. she claims to be what she isnt...punk rock/punk pop..og please...gimme a break. having listened to her album it's nothing more than pop ballards with the odd rockier influence thrown in.

 

2. she claims so many things, but they're mosty lies, like how she can skate, but in mtv's making the video the director asked her to and she said she's crap at it

 

3. she has proffesonal writers. She claims she writes the songs herself, indeed i think i recall hearing that she wrote some at 16, if so, then why would profesional writers be needed? I have no problem with people having help from writers, so long as they admit it. she likes to claim she writes them all herself, but she dont

 

4. she can't play the guitar, though she claims she can. Watched AOL sessions, acoustic set, sorry but any guitar songwriter/singer can play acousitc and sing at the same time, specially if you're doing it for a living, i know i can, and i'm still learning.

 

5. she cant sing, simple as...listen to her songs (try chop suey live) eeeeeeeeeew

 

6. Her lyrics are extremelly bad...Skater boi (the spelling is a pet hate also) i mean boy meets girl, girl dumps boy, boy becomes famous, boy meets avril, boy and avril happy..what? "he was a boy, she was a girl, can i make it any more obvious" my little sister can do better than that

I agree with this one. In an interview she said that she loves playing the guitar and writing music b/c it's her therapy, yet at every opportunity she has to play live with it, she's like, "no i'm crap"..i've seen her do that on a number of times just recently. :shrug:

i dont mind her, i dont know why everyone hates her, well supposely because shes a punk poser, so what, i hate pop punk so i dont really care. she has some ok songs

i'm sorry, i shouldn't laugh but that is almost as funny as hearing a politican say he'll tell the truth.

 

Popularity has nothing to do with anything, certainly not talent.

 

I mean, Westlife are popular, boyzone used to be, take that, little pop duos, female singers who cant sing, write or play an instrument are popular because they are attractive. Popularity is to do with marketting.

 

Avril is marketed very well, of that i admit, but then she's marketed to kids, i mean she wins Nickelodeon awards for gawds sake, that's not punk, which she tries to claim to be.

 

There are many many acts out there who are damned talented who'll never be that popular, may never even have a record deal. Popularity has absolutly nothing to do talent.

 

I don't have to stop saying my opion simply because she's popular, it's all to do with expression and personal opinion and freedoms.

 

Do you like manchester united? Do you like Eminem? Do you like Star Trek, Star Wars?

 

They're popular, but it doesn't make them good, doesn't mean that no-one should think they're bad and be told to stuff their opinions.

 

I stated why i disliked her, i was willing to leave it at that, but instead i had name calling, ok so i mis-interpreted a post by someone, i tried to make an apology by joking but that's not enough.
