I'd like to know what your (xfrodobagginsx) take is on the Seven Deadly Sins. If you succumb to any of them, do you go to hell? Even if you repent / ask for forgiveness? What about the people that succumbed to any of those sins between the time that the Bible was written and the time the Seven Deadly Sins were, how shall I say, made "official" several centuries later?

Sorry, I just get so annoyed when people say things like what you said as if it's fact. I would never even say that the Bible is 100% true because I don't know and I will never know for sure.

You have to understand that the church isn't God. There are false churches AND there are false teachings within certain churches. So how do you know if it is a false teaching? By reading the bible for yourself and studying it. You are accountable to God for what you believe, live and teach others. Learn it.

 

I don't believe in 7 deadly sins because it hasn't been shown to me to exist in the bible. The only sin that causes a person to go to hell is failiure to accept Jesus Chrsit into their heart as their Lord and Savior. The reason is simple. Sin is a crime against God. The punishment for our crimes against God is hell (prison). Hell is a prison for those who commit crimes against God. The only way out of hell is by recieving a pardon for our sins (crimes). Jesus Christ provided this pardon for those who will believe in Him as their Lord and Savior. So if you want to be saved (pardoned) and go to heaven when you die, you need to accept the Pardon that Jesus Christ offers you through faith in Him. You can do that by praying a simple prayer.

 

Pray something like this:

 

"Dear Lord Jesus, I humble my heart before you. I admit that I am a sinner and in need of a Savior. I ask you to come into my heart and forgive me for my sins, take me to be with you when I die. I accept You as my Lord and Savior, fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus name amen"

 

If you prayed that prayer to God from your heart and meant it to Him, you are a child of God and will be pardoned for your sins and go to heaven when you die.
