Canteen/Cafeteria food ...

Featured Replies

... seriously is there any good in the world?! :blank:

I still feel sick, because I was given the chance to be subject of the test of a new meal that was served at my university's cafeteria today. :charming: The vanilla sauce of what was supposed to be a sweet dumpling or something looked like pus.

Why did I even eat it? I don't know, I was hungry ... well, and don't even get me started on their lasagna.

How's the food at your school/university/workplace/whatever?

cafeteria's food is yummy at uni, but too expensive D:

so I bring food from home

The joke is that the food at my uni got more and more expensive and it's still the same crap it was 3 years ago.

The food at my uni in Spain was damn expensive too ... it wasn't any better though. :blank:

The food at my school's cafeteria isn't bad. Same stuff every day though :blank:

Food at my school is alright , but they stopped us from just buying cake for lunch anyway this doesn't bother me so much now because last year get to go into town :D

Lore, I'd love to have lunch with you, but there are two places you should never take me: a university's cafeteria and McDonald's :P

I love my school's food.

You can tell them exactly what you want on your sandwich, and they'll do it. :awesome:

Giant sandwich for $2.50 :awesome:

We have a shit canteen here,

well they call it a canteen but it's not really one.

There are vending machines.

People from the deli come over too to take orders for sandwiches and rolls in the morning break and hand the food out at lunch time.

Luckily I can leave for lunch cause I'm in the most senior year

...but there still isn't the biggest food selection out in the shop and deli.

Although I feel like I'm never gonna eat again at all after today. First a cold and now this ... :(

Sorry for the rant. :shame:

I dunno I don't eat at college I go home for lunch :awesome:

I've only been in the cafeteria...... twice I think :blank:

Hmmm let's go through this:

Work now- Vending machine full of sandwiches which aren't generally nice, but salads which are actually great, but nobody must buy those because it's rare you see them. Normally have my own sandwiches/cold pasta.

University- uuhg the cafeteria had awful food, but you could get a free meal a day so I felt obliged to buy awful, tasteless crap (Curry especially). Eventually started buying salads or fruit.

High school- probably better then university from what I remember, but only ever ate food from there a handful of times in my 7 years there. Influenced to have my own sandwiches by the fact that you had an hour long lunch, and if you wanted to go to the cafeteria you would spend usually half an hour between waiting in the cue and eating your lunch, instead of just being free to go to the handball alleys and have an entire hour instead of a rushed lunchbreak.

My mammy

Mammy?! Go love a spud you limey Paddy. :disappointed:

My school canteen has awesome food.

Maybe they actually cook it from scratch on the day.

Yep, they do, I guess.

Don't all do that? :uhoh:

I had a friend who's mom was the cook at my high school's cafeteria, but she only started work at 12 (Half an hour before food was served) so, I highly doubt every school does.

Generally I think a lot of schools suffer from not having fresh ingredients.

Oh.

Since our break is at around 10am, so the canteen workers start cooking early. But some food can be cooked (or warmed up) on the spot.

How's canteen food like, at Western countries?

Well there's a lot of fried crap, and a lot of ingredients bought at the cheapest price possible, and then a lot of salt put into it in an order to kill your tastebuds. :nice:

My mummy makes my lunch :embarrassed: is yummy though :D

But the hot food at my school is alright, but waaayyy to expensive.

Spicy food <3

I suppose most food are salty these days. :uhoh:
