I like the new Gorillaz album more, it's really good... but then again I've only listened to the new Kanye album once. I enjoyed it but wasn't blown away or anything.

I've only listened to Kanye's once so I can't really choose fairly.

 

It took me a while to really get into Plastic Beach though, and I've gotten a little tired of it since then.

I guess while it may seem like a random comparison I feel like both albums have brought in a bunch of different artists together from different genres and put them on one album.

 

Gorillaz: Lou Reed, Snoop Dogg

Kanye West: Bon Iver, Fergie

I'm just neutral regarding him. I do like some of his stuff though.

hmmm tough choice. im a bigger kanye fan but i also like everything the gorillaz have done. i would say the gorillaz album does tire a little towards the end, im not a big fan of the final 3 tracks, like theyre not bad songs but by the time i get to them i sort of want the album to be over already.

 

on the other hand kanye's is pretty solid all the way through except those last few moments of blame game and some aspects of all the lights it is a near perfect album.

Hm. I don't really see that many similarities between the two albums. Sure, both use a lot of different styles in their music but they're too different to compare really. I've only listened to Kanye's album once though and I have to say I really like it for a (mainly) hiphop album (except for the autotune somewhere near the end of the album :dozey:). That's quite an achievement because I think I only like hiphop(ish) albums by a select few bands so far. :thinking:

Gorillaz, hands down for me.

Maybe it's just because I've listened to them more, maybe it's because I'm still struggling to come to terms with the fact that I might actually like something by Kanye West... I'm not saying I dislike his album, I just like Gorillaz more.

Plastic Beach, I love everything about the album. The music, the guests and even the story behind the album so it's got to be Gorillaz :)
