November 2, 200322 yr if you say that to someone when you are talking to them on msn (or anything else over internet use) do you think it's rude? i say that when i think something is funny. i don't necissarily laugh out loud. but she thinks it's kinder when you say "LOL" instead of "lol" :/ she says that when you say "lol" she thinks you mean that you don't care and you're saying "pfft whatever". like you don't care. gah it doesn't make sense to me. now she thinks i don't like her. and she never had a problem with it before... i always write lol. unless i press caps lock by mistake.
November 2, 200322 yr Ok, now I'm totally confused... I've never understand some english abbreviation used in the internet... :/ What LOL means? And LMAO? And ROFL? And I always thought that lol was like :stunned:... but I suppose I'm wrong :dozey:
November 2, 200322 yr Author i thought ciao meant goodbye. meh i don't really know. i've just heard some people say ciao before they leave. eh, i'll just leave it.
November 2, 200322 yr It can be used as Hello or Good bye. It was ussually as Hello, but seeing the relation between Ciao and Chao and other coincidences, the word was used for Bye, and it's accepted like that anyway. In Argentina people tell you Ciao for both, hello and bye, just like in Italy. We use it for Hello only
