Biffy Clyro

My kids gave me the Deluxe Only Revs for Christmas (not that I bought it myself and gave it to them to wrap for me or anything :shame:)

WHat a sneaky mom

and I was watching 'Voice and Electrical Noises' the other night, it's so funny, they're all so sweet together. The bit wth the theremin was hilarious

XDD

It's funny cause here in France, they only sell the deluxe 'french' edition with of course 'Voice and electrical noises' and 3 bonus track : Prey hey, eye lids and the mountains accoustic.

For once that my stupid country do sthg right, I'm happy :D But regarding Mountains, I've asked myself the same question  It's not credited in the booklet (though they mention Josh Homme so why not this girl??)

And this morning, I tuned on my favorite radio and they were playing 'that golden rule' :awesome: (and they're playing 'we used to vacation' from CWC as I type so this is gonna be a GOOD day! :D )

So umm...I've kinda gotten into these guys lately. Granted, I've only heard the latest album, so I still have en entire back catalog to discover, which excites me seeing as how I enjoy the latest one so much. Do any of you have suggestions on which album to tackle next? Or should I simply work my way backwards?

I think they're pretty much unheard of here in the States, but they are also apparently touring near me in a couple months at a really tiny venue, so if I were to go, I'd want to be well aware of their material.

BACKWARDS!!! :)

I still have some difficulties with their earlier stuff but it's growing on me. And you should go see them if you've got the occasion ;) They are very impressiv live, I'cant wait to see them (if they're not doing a gig when I can't go like last time  )

I agree with Aurélie!

You'll love the album before I bet (Puzzle), then after that I'd say listen to Blackened Sky but just working your way backwards is fine, too. :)

Did you see their MM thread?

There are some very fine acoustic versions and covers in there.

Thanks, both of you! I'll check those out!

You're welcome :) but you'll notice Puzzle is a pretty sad album since it deals mostly about Simon's mother death. A lot of song are about her passing away or him grieving....

And check out Anna's MM thread, they're just INCREDIBLE in accoustic!!

I can't help to repost their incredible Rage Against the Machine cover...

Footie fan Kimmi??? Rugby is beeeeettteeeeeeeeeeeeer....just saying :p

:laugh3: try telling that to the guys of Biffy...& SP...& Coldplay. :P

actually, i don't really follow SPL. so i didn't get what was the significance of the Rangers vs Celtic draw in relation to James' beloved Kilmarnock...aside from knowing that Simon's a Rangers fan + the fact that Rangers & Celtic are bitter rivals. anyone care to explain?

Hey Kimmi, I saw this BBC news bit and there they mentioned "The Old Firm"... that made me curious like you and I googled that term so here is your explanation

(Or what do you mean with Kilmarnock? I think I simply don't understand everything they're saying :uhoh: :disappointed:)

EDIT: I don't know a thing about sports and even less about sports in Scotland... so mhmm, I don't know. :embarrassed: I didn't know about that term and you obviously meant something different...

I bought Biffy tix for March 1st. :D

Oh crap, now I have to actually learn their songs. :laugh3:

:dead: :bomb:

Must be from a recent photoshoot

haha...that's a funny one you found, Anna!

*fakes a deep Scottish accent* you'rrre in trrrouble, bohy. :laugh3:

it was in the longer FB video of the Scottish Cup draw. James was saying something about his "beloved Kilmarnock" being beaten by Rangers just the night before. & he said his heart was beating when he saw the team he drew & saw the "C" as it was unrolled. just wondering what's the significance since Kilmarnock FC and Celtic FC are different teams. it's probably got something to do with the "Old Firm" rivalry, especially from that Scottish FA guy's comment in that BBC video you posted.

(i have the man who's picture is visible in the background behind Simon in the FB video of the cup draw to thank for my understanding of the Scottish accent, including the Biffy Clyro guys' accents!)

This was on my tumblr dash waiting for me this evening. Amazing or wot? :wacky:

Waaah that's so cute :D Is that Jimbo sitting down and Ben on the ground? They're almost unrecognisable.

BTW kiddiewinks have you voted Biffy for Best British Band and Best Live Band in the nme awards yet? (I didn't, I voted Kasabian but that's beside the point.... :P )
