It's a great book! I'm really enjoying it so far (I've got one hand on spotify for the song I don't know while reading, so it takes a little time XD)

It was funny to watch the DVD, it made me remember of all the times Coldplay mentioned the importance of a ping pong table backstage. :lol:

i heard about the disgrace that was Axl Rose's diva-ness & tantrums at the Reading & Leeds Festivals & the GNR gig in Ireland. & i think Simon's right in describing it as embarrassing to see what GNR & Axl Rose have become. apparently it was so bad in Ireland that bottles were thrown at them & it was pure chaos! :(

 

in comparison, Axl's ex-bandmate Slash has been getting gushing reviews & nothing but great comments from awestruck DJs who've met/interviewed him. :P

 

anyway, back to Biffy...i ended up buying the 2-CD Dermot O'Leary live sessions compilation thing. if only just mainly for the Biffy cover of that Cheryl Cole song & a couple other covers & live session tracks. :D

i guess it's just another form of blogging or longer tweets...whichever way you want to see it. tho i don't understand it either...or even this thing where just about every other Tumblr account about a band/artist is something along the lines of "fuckyeah<insert_name_of_band_artist_actor_actress_etc>"

haha...yeah, that'd be quite a bummer...getting wet & all. but at least it's in a covered/indoor venue.

 

& while the Biffy fans are a mental bunch, especially with the rockier songs like That Golden Rule, it's in a good way. you'll end up enjoying yourself the entire time. i found myself being pushed by the crowd to the front. & a random guy even insisted on lifting another girl who was there on her own & me up on his shoulders (one at a time, of course)...up until the security yelled/gestured at me to get back down. :dozey:

I've listened to the track by track they did for Only revolutions on XFM. I ADORE those kind of things and the lads were in great form, akways laughing! Funny things: the beginning of 'know your quarry' is about Simon's asthma :stunned: and it turns out afterwards into a love song for his wife :heart: (that line particuraly melt me: Love is a shadow, in the brightness it dies ) That song is one of my fav on the album and it was fun to know the 'backside' of it. Another funny stuff: the many references about 'horses' on the album. Apparently, Simon is for an unknown reason obsessed with them at the moment (hence the new horses tatoos on his skin and which led James (or Ben?) called him during the ITV 'a man of Rohan' :laugh3: (which make me think I might be watching LOTR tonight...)

Listening to them speaking about their 'recent' success among a more massiv audience, they really remind me of Snow Patrol. I know the connection may seem weird since they make so different music but the way they strive about 10 years to make it by touring constantly, how that's just with their two recent albums that they're really getting known worldwide, their views about their music, success, fans not to forget their overall kindness...they're really alike in that perspective.

 

Anyway, I have so much to listen still...! will continue the catching up!

Haha, they have told maaaaaaaany stories about their name and every time it's a different one.

The one that inspired the shirt is this:

They had a "Cliff Richard" pen (=biro) and they called it "Cliffy Biro", then changed it to "Biffy Clyro". :lol:

 

That is the short version that I remember, there is a full story on the forum or on wikipedia... :thinking:
