Do it Violet. You could be the next biggest rapper of the decade.

Who knows? Violet could win a Grammy or two. ;)

if you do win a grammy, melt it and make yourself a nice necklace because a grammy is worth shit

So.. That Radiohead group. Are they cool or what.

omg, liek Radiohead. Theyz be awesomez on evuryy lvl, like, dat KID A album be so beast, yo.

I'll do another rap battle soon, I've got two assignments on at the moment. I'll probably do one when I'm so bored of writing about the elitism of modern poetry. :sleeping:

Speaking of which, I'll try to remember to record that Liam/Noel one as promised within the coming days. I did have a question, however: Should I try to emulate the Gallaghers' accents, or should I just stick to my own, slightly Southern, American one?

Just say "mad fer it" every other word

Whichever :lol:

Do you want a backing track or will you do your own?

I don't really know how to go about making a backing track, so maybe you should do that bit, if that's OK with you.

I'll try my best :)

You should write your assignment in form of a rap battle between two elitists modern poets :nod:

or elitist modern poetry vs non elitist poetry :nod:

I once wrote a reflective commentary in the form of a 3,000 word rap and would've failed if it hadn't have been for the sheer effort. I was deemed to be "taking the piss" though.

  • 2 weeks later...

I did another rap battle, Matt Bellamy vs Justin Timberlake.

Matt:

My name’s Matt B to the ellamy, maybe,

you hearda me? Maybe you’re my enemy, baby,

‘cause I start uprisings against corrupt regimes,

yet I’m a knight of Cydonia in teenage dreams.

I’m a rock legend, the heir to Freddie Mercury,

use Leeds fucking Festival for album anniversaries;

you’ve heard the 2nd Law, now let me give you number 3:

thou shalt not fuck with Matt Bellamy.

Justin:

There’s something about you.

The way you’re looking at me or whatever.

Better be scared now.

You look a bit like a crow...

Oh, cry me a river, you big fucking girl,

you’re famous in Devon, I’m big ‘round the world,

and whilst you bang on about aliens and war crimes,

I’m bringing sexy back, for a second time.

You think you’re cool? I’ve actually got friends in the ghetto,

and don’t get me started on why my falsetto,

kicks your little squeal into the ground;

it’s true what they say, what goes around comes around.

Matt:

Ha! Is that the best you’ve got to hit me?

You’re messing with a Supermassive star, not Britney;

you moaned about her on your album with pride,

and then you have the cheek to call it, “Justified”?

It’s not “sexy” you brought back, it’s “sleazy and dirty”;

Timbaland’s not ghetto, he’s a fat Eddie Murphy,

your music was shit so you went to make movies,

but you’re more Lindsey Lohan than George fucking Clooney.

Justin:

I was in movies that people wanted to see,

I bet you only watch X Files and the news on TV;

you sound like you’re in pain when you sing,

and why the fuck would anyone call their son Bing?

I’d make jokes about Muse, but your songs sound the same,

your red suit is lame, and it’s really a shame,

you think people see you as original, invincible:

you’re pitiful, an imbecile and clinically insane.

you should send them to that website/youtube channel that makes those videos!

Definitely worth a listen

I've been listening to Radiohead for a few years now.

I was first introduced to them by my cousin who showed me 15 step, he thought it was cool how the song is written in 5/4. I gave that song a listen and thought it was pretty sweet, but when I listened to house of cards I was hooked. That song is one of the greatest songs I personally have ever listened to and fell in love with.

Wanna get into Radiohead, listen to In Rainbows, and house of cards, then hop to Ok Computer, Kid A, King of Limbs, Hail to the Thief, and their oldies.

- Nick

Prepare for a lovely musical journey etc. :) They've got a huge back catalogue and you're going to find something great on each album.

I'm considering listening to the b-sides too, anyone knows any web site that has a list or something?
