This post will be a candidate for best post of 2011 .... incredible to see Chris in a pub, is almost better than a concert, how long did his performance?

Chris didn't go back to New York after the show! A friend of mine is in London now, and she met Chris at the Beehive this afternoon! She got autographs for her, and for me, and they talked about the upcoming Pinkpop Festival in Holland were they're going to play :)

Gotta say I'm not pleased that my story has ended up in some twisted form on various websites...I have now removed it to avoid any further confusion.

is a :\shame

Wedding Bells!! It seems to keep popping up.With a couple new lyrics too!Seems like they have been working on it or Chris anywyas. I think Chris really likes the song. I for one love it very much.It seems like theirs a great story in the song. I hope they at least release it as a b-side!!

OMG those videos are absolutely amazing. Thanks for sharing them with us. Chris sounds so good . As always :D

A lot of times I feel like we fall in love with these beautiful pieces of art, and Coldplay view them as nothing but some songs, but then I see Chris still playing Wedding Bells instead of just letting it die since it won't be on the album, and understanding how beautiful Till Kingdom Come and Green Eyes are and I see that Coldplay are really attached to their songs as well. Makes me happy :)

Keep cool, Nadia!!!;)

That can only be an idiot, who writes such things!!!

Blimey!...what an absolute once-in-a-lifetime experience you had indeed!: Chris in his element, in his local town, unplugged at a pub...like the early days of the band ;)..we're all speechlessly jealous! I've passed by the Bakery/Beehive a few times but have never been lucky enough to catch Chris or any of the other boys/crew ;(...but here's to hoping I get lucky one day like you :)...many cheers for sharing your story and videos!

So I'll add my two cents into the review mix, but not much to add.

I got there a little bit early and was waiting outside. Matt McGinn parked his car down the street and started lugging guitars and stuff up towards the pub. I had absolutely no idea who he was, even though I've got his book (shame), but I'm not a super hardcore fan and I don't really know about all the staff and roadies! He came up to me (thinking I was security) and asked if this was the entrance, which I replied yes, and if Lou was inside, which I replied I don't work here! :laugh2:

On reflection I should have offered to help him get stuff into the gig, but he looked like a man on a mission and I didn't want to get in any of the "pros" way!

After too many mineral waters (I had the same tipple as Simon Pegg :P), I had to use the loo which was through a narrow corridor. On the way out Chris and Matt were talking in the doorway about guitars, and Chris was holding the door open. Quite surreal! So I squeezed past back for the main act. They were really lively and fun even though the power kept cutting out, haha. After another visit to the loo I passed Matt carrying a guitar to Chris, and because of the tight space to get through my hand brushed against it, which was quite an honour! haha :P. I'm sure you fangirls would have been more excited than I was though! :p

After the first band and Chris performed we went over to say goodbye to Matt. I said we were fans and it was coincidence we were here (well it was for me, Mich was the one who had a hunch :p). He recognised me from earlier, and I said I didn't realise who he was, to which he said "Why would you? I'm just another fucking roadie!" - I laughed (I hope I was supposed to laugh?! :| haha).

Anyways we said goodbye to him and also to Simon Pegg, and then Matt tapped us on the shoulder and said here take these, and he gave us Chris' picks, which was so lovely of him. As Mich said they have velcro on so they are more comfortable to hold (smart idea!).

A thoroughly lovely shindig, and it was so nice for Chris to do it, and you could tell the place meant a lot to him and Simon; it was a lovely send off for John.
