Dear Coldplay fans:

Yeah I think this thread has now become about as welcome as a Nazi at a Bar Mitzvah.

Become? I reckon that was the case from the outset!:dozey:

all i have to say to this thread is:

NYAN NYAN NYAN NYAN NYAN poptartFINALTINY.gif

NYAN CAT~

And guys, just accept that some people, who don't like Coldplay are still on the forum. Don't act like it's your forum.

Oh, I know perfectly well that there are A LOT of people who don't like Coldplay. And yeah, I accept that because that's how the life goes. Different tastes and that kind of stuff.

But really, Coldplay-hatred is an old trick. I'm sick of that stupid "gay" jokes, those "they ripped the sound of other bands", "Radiohead clones" or "they are boring" things that've been repeated 20000 times. Coldplay have become a kind of whipping boy. When there are such artists as Lady Gaga or Justin Bieber who are all about media hype and have little to do with music, people are still bothered with Coldplay. Why people why?

Even here, on the Coldplay fan forum criticism overwhelms praise. Why am I writing it? Because it seems that Coldplay fans have to make excuses for loving the band. I hate that. I'm not that obsessed and I listen to a lot of other music, but still Coldplay is my favorite band. I have respect for other people tastes and I'd never say "this band is shit, 'cause it's not Coldplay", and I like constructive criticism, I just hate people bullying Coldplay and putting them on the same level as stupid pop singers.

I don't really think people have ever called them Radiohead clones. Plus, their music isn't similar so I wouldn't get mad.

Why is Gaga worse than Coldplay? Cos she's making pop music? Cos she's bizarre? It's subjective. And no, I'm not a Gaga fan.

and then you generalize an entire music genre

stupid pop singers

Your argument = invalid.

I was just gonna say what Lore did pretty much :P

Another excellent question. I am of the opinion it's because there's been a mediocrity epidemic. All those TV talent shows have had a lot to do with it too.

Anyway, as has already been said, nobody is forced to like Coldplay, even on here.

I also don't care whether others like them or not.

However, if all people want to do is slag them off, there are thousands of non-Coldplay forums (no doubt including those dedicated to the likes of GaGa and Bieber) where they can do that to their heart's content.

Therefore there shouldn't be any need to do it on here IMO.:dozey:

When I first arrived on the forum, I was quite surprised to see (a lot) of non-Coldplay fans on here. It just seems strange at first. But when I discovered the rest of the forum (WoM, Lounge), I understood.

I don't mind people not liking Coldplay. We all have different tastes, and they're so many artists who are supposed to be super-fantastic I never liked. So I just accept other people's taste cause I'd like those people to accept mine as well.

Now sometimes I find people a bit narrow minded. I remember people opening a Christmas Lights thread in the WoM to discuss it cause the one on the Coldplay was so "COLDLAYYYY THE BEEEST".

heh, I've wondered that too.

I'm expecting no response, or a "Clearly you have nothing to do with your time, you're in a Coldplay board for Coldplay fans :dozey:" or something entirely irrelevant.

shouldn't you be on a board for narrow minded individuals lore? :smug:

Tammi you're so irrelevant  I'll report all your posts now because I'm a crying baby like that :smug:

I reported you even before we started posting here :smug:

i reported you before reporting was even invented :cool3: :hip:

Well, there are haters for everyone. I´m a Justin Bieber hater, you know.

I would say that Coldplay don´t deserve to be hated, but this is a subjective opinion, because I LOVE THEM.

Internet turns so boring sometimes.

The big difference being, you presumably don't troll a Bieber fan site creating anti-Bieber threads.;)

I dread to think what one of those sites must be like, by the way. :stunned:

'He cut his hair so mods delete me I won't be posting here anymore.'

At least, he lost something like 40000 Twitter followers because of the haircut. And somehow Coldplay fans are worse.

Coldplay's fan base: Aprox -> 16/17 - Old people.

Bieber's fan base: 12 - 16
