Still waiting for my track list…… really want to see who the bands were and what that coldplay song was :)

It took me a while to where I could even tolerate it, really. :\ It's too bad. "Hopes and Fears" is so beautiful.

I sure hope you're right. I love that album.

Do you have any other information pertaining to LP4?

From Wikipedia:

The British quartet is currently working on the new album. On 28 March 2011, during a 50 fans questions interview, Tim Rice-Oxley said the following about the next album:

"Sonically, I think it's probably close to Under The Iron Sea. I think there are elements of all three albums as you'd expect, but I think Under The Iron Sea had a very good balance of that really strong, emotional core but also some amazing soundscape and a lot of energy peeks and also some really intimate moments like Hamburg Song and Try Again. I think and I hope its' going to be a really beautiful-sounding record. One of the things I loved about Perfect Symmetry was songs like Spiralling that had a massive amount of energy, so I hope it'll have some of that too."

During their trip to China in April, Richard Hughes stated that the album might not come out until 2012 since they don't want to have any deadlines. In an interview in China in April 2011, Tim Rice-Oxley and Jesse Quin said the band's new album will be geared more towards rock, while at the same time revisiting elements of their second album, Under The Iron Sea.

I might take a look at it, seeing as I'm one of those 6 to yet receive a mixtape

hello squibby92 I'm late for the posting sorry :( I'm very busy nowadays..

Let's start

1. I like the intro and love her voice, I recognise the music but can't place who it is? I'm assuming it's about a relationship that's going through a rough patch and they're reminding each other they've been through worse? I want to hear more of them anyway. A good upbeat start

I've just found this song and album and really like it :) I listened it to my friend and she also loved :D Did you know who the female single is ?? She is Scarlett Johansson! I really admire her :)

2. Another good intro, nice voice and again i feel I know them but can't figure them out. He sounds a small teeny weeny bit like Matt Bellamy. I'm enjoying the musical aspect of the song too, the guitar has a nice rhythm to it and the drums stand out too. Interested to see who this is. I like how it gives an upbeat and downbeat feel to the song, it's hard at times to tell wether or not it's a happy or sad song but towards the end of this song i'm leaning more towards a sad song.

This is Jeff Buckley. Lots of people say that some of the Coldplay's songs are inspired of his songs. I'm totally agree with Coldplay's Shiver inspired this song.

3. Already liking this song and i'm not surprised once I hear Thoms voice because it's Radiohead. I'm happy this is on because i'm still kinda new to Radiohead and I've found another reason why I need to be listening to them . I'm loving the guitar of the song and I like how it's picking up more tempo, getting more aggressive but then falls back to the acoustic like at the beginning.

I'm not a strong Radiohead fan I really love this song. Do you watch How I met your mother? This song was played end of the 3th season when Ted had an car accident. That moment and that song impressed me so much.

4. R.E.M only 4 tracks in and I can't wait to sync my ipod so i'll have the mixtape with me all the time. I like R.E.M I find his voice entrancing and the music is really (also strangely) relaxing lol.

That sugar cane that tasted good.

That freezing rain, that's what you could.

C'mon, c'mon on no one can see you cry. :)

5. Is this group Greek by any chance? This track makes me want to wear purple and smash plates while shouting UMPA! ha. I'm enjoying this track a lot I find the singer quite funny whoever he is he reminds me of a creepy singer on last years X-Factor except this man can sing and entertain anyway his name is Wagner. Loving the end to this, I have a grin on my face while shaking my bum. 'Start Wearing Purple For Me Now!' My fave so far

no they're American :D Let's start wearing purple!! haha this band is Gogol Bordello and their songs are very funny :D You should listen 'Gypsy Punks Underdog World Strike' album really funny :)

6. Immediately this had me thinking of José González with the acoustic guitar but then it got electrical. I didn't realise it was instrumental, it caught me off guard. Nicely placed too I wasn't expecting it.

Do you watch Dexter ? This is soundtrack of Dexter. In 20. second my hearts beating different. I don't know why :)

7. Is this The Corrs? If not then there's another band too which it's probably them but yet again I can't find a name for the sound. Is the song called Animal Instinct? I think the song is about someone who's in love and willing to do anything to be with the person but he/she doesn't know about it. I like this guitar riff towards the end but not too fussy on the band it's self.

I didn't listen this song so far. While I was looking for my music archive I saw this band and I remembered that me and my friends how much loved this song :)

8. I like this intro and again another greek feel to it…… hang on it's Green Day! Another nice surprise. An upbeat tune but with lyrics about misery and misfortune. Lovely description, pity it's about being bludgened to death and people going missing. I like this song though I'm not Green Days biggest fan (if a fan at all) but I always have liked his voice and there sort of comedic ways at times and I do like this music and I've enjoyed the song in general. Guess it's time to go looking into the Green Day archives.

Yeah it's Green Day.. How different song of GD isnt it?? I was a big fan of GD in my highschool years :D Billie's voice is suitable for every song like Time of Your Life or American Idiot :D ahh He's getting older like other big vocals..

9. This is probably the loudest start into a song so far. Very Jazzy/Blues like and I'm liking it This is not Aerosmith is it? There's similarities to Tyler's voice. I like the track i'm loving the harmonica and piano especially and the guitar in this. Not too bothered about the voice but like everything else though.

I like the intro of this song and 'well well well' part :) Yes It's Aerosmith which is one of the my favourite bands.and the other one is coming...

10. Sounds like dubstep at the beginning I really like it, WHAT! It's Chris Martin singing! How come I've never heard this before and also why isn't this in the Coldplay discography? This has shocked me. This has to be one of the coolest Coldplay songs I've heard, I love Wills drums and Guys bass too! Chris's vocals are crisp and clear and the piano is beautifully complimenting the song too. Johnnys guitar towards the end is brilliant, this is such a heavy song and I love it. Well done for putting this in cos I've just fallen in love with the song! Was this done for a film? the lyrics seem to be something suitable for The Bourne Trilogy.

WHAT! It's Chris Martin singing! haha you made me laugh :D

this not a coldplay song. Faultline ft. Chris Martin wrotes on the song. I did research http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faultline_(musician) This song is really reallly reallllly great! I wish It was a Coldplay song :( there is another faultline ft. chris martin song called Your Love Means Everything Part 2 and it is brilliant too. But this one is my favourite :)

11. I like this start, it's upbeat and cheery and the drums have just kicked in I already feel happy inside from it. This is Sigur Ros isn't it? The only thing throwing me of is the fact there singing parts in english. Love the drums throughout the song and the rest of the music too it's such a happy song. It makes me think of being a child again in a park on a summers day playing around trees and just having fun. A great summer song and I'm looking forward to listening to it again. Loving this track

I first came up with this song on a paint advertisement!! you can watch it from here

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhyhAxa8nvM]YouTube - ‪Anuncio Spot Bruguer: Colores del Mundo - Let's Color - Marzo 2011‬‏[/ame]

It is so sweet, isn't it? it made me same feeling like going a picnic or a park and listen this song loudly :D

12. DAMN!! Such a cool intro. White Stripes! It's already fantastic and I love this song too. You don't know what love is! It's a shame they've finished now But this is one of my favourite White Stripe songs, just like the intro the rest of the song is so cool. Just simply awesome!

oo White Stripes one of my favourite band!! I cried when they were split up :( :( It's classical White Stripe song. I love Jack White's voice so different and exclusive :shocked2::shocked2:

13. See I like the music but I hate the little rat who sings. If Axl Rose didn't open his mouth I'd actually like Guns N Roses. Slash is great though and I look forward to seeing him this summer. Sorry though I hate Axl as a person and his voice far too much that I've had to skip the song. Again though the music to Paradise city is brilliant just that little prick is shite :/

woo Why don't you love Axl Rose :( :( I admire his voice. anyway it's your choice. You are missing very strong voice, in my opininon :)

14. A lovely ending to a great tape. Have to say Parachutes is one of my favourite songs of the album, so nice, beautiful short and brilliant. Reminds me of just staring up into the sky on a summers day when you've got perfectly shaped clouds passing over a lovely blue sky with the sun shining bright too

Parachutes...I can listen this song all day all life..Chris' voice in this soong-and always- makes me relax and pours my mind. They should sing this song in concerts. I can cry :)

Overall I really liked your mixtape, it was so upbeat and summery that it'll be getting played quite a lot throughout the summer Thanks and I look forward to seeing the track list!

thank you so much :) You make me so happy to loving my mixtape :smug::smug: I think our music tastes have a common point :) -but Axl Rose :wink3::wink3:

I'll download your mixtape ;)

Damn I should've known it, I have his greatest hits too *slaps himself in the forehead* Jeff Buckley is a legend may he rest in peace.

I'm not a strong Radiohead fan I really love this song. Do you watch How I met your mother? This song was played end of the 3th season when Ted had an car accident. That moment and that song impressed me so much.

Lol, you should read what I said about one of my songs when telling about my mix, I got a song from How I Met Your Mother as well and I fell in love with it. This just goes to show how legen, wait for it……… dary, Legendary! This show is haha

That sugar cane that tasted good.

That freezing rain, that's what you could.

C'mon, c'mon on no one can see you cry. :)

My mates are telling me all the time to check out the show but I never have but I think this song is now another reason why I should.

I didn't listen this song so far. While I was looking for my music archive I saw this band and I remembered that me and my friends how much loved this song :)

I knew I recognised this band, The Cranberries have such a distinctive voice/sound that they should have been the first band to come to mind, not The Corrs

Yeah it's Green Day.. How different song of GD isnt it?? I was a big fan of GD in my highschool years :D Billie's voice is suitable for every song like Time of Your Life or American Idiot :D ahh He's getting older like other big vocals..

It certainly is a different style from their usual stuff and I'm always a fan of acoustic music if it's set up right and this was :)

I like the intro of this song and 'well well well' part :) Yes It's Aerosmith which is one of the my favourite bands.and the other one is coming...

I'm surprised to be honest because I'm not that fussy on Aerosmith and this is so different to their normal stuff, I liked it but not enough though to change my mind on them as a band

WHAT! It's Chris Martin singing! haha you made me laugh :D

this not a coldplay song. Faultline ft. Chris Martin wrotes on the song. I did research http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faultline_(musician) This song is really reallly reallllly great! This for me is another slap yourself in the forehead after how I reviewed in detail how great Will, Johnny and Guy were lol but if this is what Faultline are like then I'll be listening to more of them. Coldplay should do some songs like this I think.

I first came up with this song on a paint advertisement!! you can watch it from here

YouTube - ‪Anuncio Spot Bruguer: Colores del Mundo - Let's Color - Marzo 2011‬‏

It is so sweet, isn't it? it made me same feeling like going a picnic or a park and listen this song loudly :D

And they say television is bad for the brain? I've discovered so many great artists because of adverts or TV programmes

oo White Stripes one of my favourite band!! I cried when they were split up :( :( It's classical White Stripe song. I love Jack White's voice so different and exclusive :shocked2::shocked2:

Hopefully one day they'll come to their senses and get back together sooner rather than later

woo Why don't you love Axl Rose :( :( I admire his voice. anyway it's your choice. You are missing very strong voice, in my opininon :)

I just think he's a dick with an attitude problem. What proved it to me was his behaviour last year at the Leeds and Reading festivals and in Dublin, he kept fans waiting well over their scheduled time. Then he gets annoyed at the fans for reacting badly. Can you blame them? I also don't like his voice, he sounds like a dying cat that's screaming.

Parachutes...I can listen this song all day all life..Chris' voice in this soong-and always- makes me relax and pours my mind. They should sing this song in concerts. I can cry :)

Parachutes as an album never mind just the song is one of the finest moments in music, such a beautiful and lovely album that I could listen to forever and never get tired of.

thank you so much :) You make me so happy to loving my mixtape :smug::smug: I think our music tastes have a common point :) -but Axl Rose :wink3::wink3:

I'll download your mixtape ;)

Well everybody's different (which is a good thing in most cases). ;) Let me know what you think, I hope you enjoy it as much as Violet did :)

15rlab8.jpg

1) guuiittarrrrr. A bit more heavy now... so this is live? I guess that's pretty good. ooooh this little guitar bit is nice. Well yeah that was pretty cool. didn't like the heavy bits but yeah. COOL.

2) Aaah this is nice. Not really liking the vocals but there's not much to dislike...really. ooh horns. Yeah this is really nice. I like.

3) Cool guitar. Good rock song, I guess. I dunno I'm not really into this kind of thing anymore but it's not bad. Irish?

4) err yeah slow rock song. not a fan.

5) argh i swear my ears have something against female vocalists. Yeah i don't like this.

6) oorrgaaan. i like pianno. so i'm watching Independence Day in the background right and it appears to be cutting in time to this. cool.

7) oooh i like this. dancey. is this part of the whole 80's revival thing? is this Cut Copy? ehhh vocals. eeeeeeehhhh. Yep I liked it before the vocals came in :blank:

8) weee acoustic wow that chord's not right wow. uh oh no not female :( It's nice though.

9) Arctic Monkeys kind of rocky stuff. not my thing..again. haha. Oh well.

10) this is awesome so far. lol female vocalist :P naw I really like this. This is really awesome actually. My favourite so far.

11) interesting start...yeah this is alright. not bad.

12) hmmmm. I'm not sure if I like this. It's interesting.

13) aw, this isn't Videotape? disappointed. Didn't really like this one sorry.

Wow I sound like a dick. ROCK MUZIK SUX. Oh well. Thanks for showing me things I've never heard before! Really excited to hear who track 10 is by.

Hi, Eddie.

OK, so when I saw that you were the person I was making a tape for, I kinda freaked out. Other than what we both listen to, it seems our tastes are vastly different. I didn't really know what to do, but after a couple of days, I figured I could use this as a way to just expose you to bands that you've never heard before. I worked extra hard on this one. Ha.

Anyway, the tracklisting. My responses will be interspersed in blue.

15rlab8.jpg

Aha, I thought you might like that.

1) guuiittarrrrr. A bit more heavy now... so this is live? I guess that's pretty good. ooooh this little guitar bit is nice. Well yeah that was pretty cool. didn't like the heavy bits but yeah. COOL.

Actually, it's not. This is by a band called And So I Watch You From Afar. Heavy instrumental rock is pretty much what they do, so that's why it sounds that way. This is called "D is for Django the Bastard."

2) Aaah this is nice. Not really liking the vocals but there's not much to dislike...really. ooh horns. Yeah this is really nice. I like.

Cool. :D This is "Shiva" by The Antlers. The vocals may take some getting used to, but I like them just fine.

3) Cool guitar. Good rock song, I guess. I dunno I'm not really into this kind of thing anymore but it's not bad. Irish?

Nope, it's Scottish. I noticed you didn't really have Scottish bands in your library, so I thought I'd throw this one in there for that purpose. This is "Mapped By What Surrounded Them" by The Twilight Sad. They have more of a shoegaze feel than anything. I just happened to pick this more upbeat one because it's a favorite of mine.

4) err yeah slow rock song. not a fan.

I didn't think you would be. This was kinda me just being selfish and wanting to put this on here. My bad. This is "Simple Math" by Manchester Orchestra, and it's their first single from their newest release that came out last month.

5) argh i swear my ears have something against female vocalists. Yeah i don't like this.

OOPS. Sorry. This is an all-girl Swedish band called Those Dancing Days, and this is their track "Falling in Fall."

6) oorrgaaan. i like pianno. so i'm watching Independence Day in the background right and it appears to be cutting in time to this. cool.

Yeah, I love organ and piano, too. This is "All Die Young" by Smith Westerns, from their new release, "Dye It Blonde." You should give the album a listen.

7) oooh i like this. dancey. is this part of the whole 80's revival thing? is this Cut Copy? ehhh vocals. eeeeeeehhhh. Yep I liked it before the vocals came in :blank:

I'm not so sure about the '80s revival thing. I don't think so. No, it's not Cut Copy. It's Delphic. This is "Submission," from their debut effort.

8) weee acoustic wow that chord's not right wow. uh oh no not female :( It's nice though.

As long as you think it's nice. I thought I'd throw in at least one acoustic number. It seems I picked the wrong one, however. Oops. This is "Troubled" by Land of Talk.

9) Arctic Monkeys kind of rocky stuff. not my thing..again. haha. Oh well.

Arctic Monkeys? Really? I never thought of it that way. This is from an art rock band called These New Puritans, and this song is called "Colours."

10) this is awesome so far. lol female vocalist :P naw I really like this. This is really awesome actually. My favourite so far.

SCORE. -fistpump- I'm really glad you like this. This is from a Canadian band called Braids, whose debut album came out this January. If you liked this track (called "Lammicken"), I strongly suggest you listen to the rest of it. It's quite good.

11) interesting start...yeah this is alright. not bad.

This is from a band named Foster the People. People have started to talk about them around here. This one's called "Call It What You Want." I'm pretty sure you could've guessed that from the chorus. I've always been a sucker for songs with piano bits like that song has.

12) hmmmm. I'm not sure if I like this. It's interesting.

It's from a band from Maryland called Eksi Ekso. Not too many people have heard of them; they have less than 100 fans on Facebook. I figured this would be something different I could throw into the tape. I've been kinda into this band lately. Anyway, this track is called "The Gallows."

13) aw, this isn't Videotape? disappointed. Didn't really like this one sorry.

Haha, nope. Don't be sorry. Different people have different tastes. This was "I Remember Moonlight" by The Crookes. I orignally wanted to put The Vaccines on my tape, but after I saw that everyone else was doing it, I changed my mind and decided this might be a good alternative.

Wow I sound like a dick. ROCK MUZIK SUX. Oh well. Thanks for showing me things I've never heard before! Really excited to hear who track 10 is by.

No, you don't. It's fine that you didn't like some of it. I think I just missed the mark in terms of what you might like. That's my fault. I'm glad you at least appreciated the different styles, and I'm really glad you like the Braids track.

ASIWYFA, Braids, The Antlers and Foster the People? Violet you would have loved The Great Escape festival; they were all playing.

13. "I Remember Moonlight"-The Crookes (Chasing After Ghosts, 2011)

The Crookes :cheesy:

Nice one. That song's ace.

Native Speaker.

OK so, here's my review!

1)I was a little put off with this at first; the beginning sounds a little like some generic R 'n' B stuff. But as it gets going, I realise I'm wrong. I'm enjoying it more on repeat listens, I quite like it! Fun, upbeat opener.

2)Paul Banks! I could recognise his voice anywhere, very distinctive. I assume this is from his solo album? I don't remember that album too well, but it doesn't sound like Interpol..

3)Summery vocals that remind me a lot of the Beach Boys but with a hazier, more shoegaze feel to it. Pretty catchy this, I quite like it!

4)Slightly darker that previous tracks, but still electronica. I like it when it gets to the 1:40 mark and what sounds like guitar feedback kicks in, definitely gives the track an edge. I could like this with a few more listens, perhaps.

5)The XX! Can't remember the name of the song, but I know I liked it

6)Dancy beat to this, with what sounds video game sounds. Hmm, not really a fan of the singer's voice, but the music is catchy.

7)Hmmm the vocals sound familiar on this one, but I can't place it..This track overall is OK, nothing really grabs me on it, though, I'm afraid.

8)This is a fun pop song, again quite catchy! The lady has a pretty good voice.

9)Starts with an extended instrumental section with vocals starting at about 1:12. This track is OK, but it almost feels too short, as if it ends too soon. I ended feeling a little disappointed to be honest :/

10)I like this! It's catchy and fun and just experimental enough. Though the part where they repeat “for me” goes on for a little too long :D

11)Our first foray out of electronic music with this and some folk-y guitars and upbeat drums. His voice sounds really really familiar! Gah, this is gonna drive me crazy, I'm sure I know who this is! I like it anyway :D

12)The beginning to this sounds a lot like Grizzly Bear's “Ready, Able”, but it's not it. I like the trumpets in the intro. Singing about Gorbachev, interesting hehe. I really like the instrumental part starting at 1:48. One of my favourites so far.

13)I like the guitars and the chorus on this one. Good, solid indie pop.

14)This one has a laid back feel to it, with just an acoustic guitar and some piano at the beginning. The singer has a nice voice. The bass and drums that kick in around the 2 minute really lift the song, would've been a bit boring otherwise. I enjoyed it though, the singer has a good voice and he sings with a lot of soul, which is always good!

15)Not too keen on this chap's voice I must say, it sounds like he's struggling to get the words out =/ The music itself is OK though, but I don't know how often I'd listen to it.

So, thank you mixtape maker for the effort you put it! I enjoyed it a lot overall. I'd really like to know the tracklist, especially tracks 1, 3, 10, 11, 12 and 14.

Thanks! :nice:

Oh, that's right, you did. Which track was it? I don't quite remember.

Ahhh, did you? Cool. :D

ASIWYFA, Braids, The Antlers and Foster the People? Violet you would have loved The Great Escape festival; they were all playing.

WHAT? :stunned:

Yeah, that's yet another festival that I get to be sad about not being able to see. :bigcry:

The Crookes :cheesy:

Nice one. That song's ace.

Thanks. :nice: I really like it. They've kinda grown on me.
