  • Lol I haven't been here in 5 years but I decided to pop my head back in for some nostalgia. Seems like this was my last post so here's an update... I finally saw Radiohead live in Manchester in 2017 a

Reckoner is my 2nd favourite Radiohead song and I love it. But it might a bit boring for a wider audience.

I think House of Cards would be even more dry, that's why I'm secretly hoping for weird fishes.

They will probably perform the song they are nominated for, House of Cards. But I'm really hoping some Weird Fishes/Arpeggi. And if there has to be some Thom's dance, 15 Step has to be the chosen!

well, I don't want house of cards, weird fishes is a very good option, but why not bodysnatchers or jigsaw falling into place

Are they actually gonna be there or will they do a live from their studio?

like they did on conan? I hope not. Surely it's worth the carbon emissions to show up at the grammy's...

that's what i've been wondering. I mean i guess it's traditional to perform there, but then again with their whole support of eliminating carbon emissions (especially during the tour), i wonder if they will travel and send their equipment just for one show.

Haha, I don't view the Grammy's worth all the carbon mess they create.

i found this in Circuit City today, and got it for like $10 (mostly because their going out of business)

the sound quality is good, but the video looks like an old vhs tape. just wanted to see if anyone else got it and what do you think of it?

Weird Fishes would be AWESOME... but really, right now I don't care. I'm just so excited about them performing!

My brother joked today that they should arrive with Thom being carried in a casket, ala Pop is Dead and just take the show over with their awesomeness... though we both agreed a flashy entrance won't be needed for them to blow the place over. Just their presense is going to show a few people what real music means :D

That's a good point. I just assumed they were going to be there. Perhaps they will just do a video feed like Amy Winhouse did last year.

It certainly does not have the same impact as if you show up and rock the actual award show.

it would be very very hypocritical of them if they did perform on the night. for two reasons.

1. the whole carbon emissions thing that they have going. they refused to go to america to do Conan because Thom claims that a flight to new york is the equivalent to driving your car around for a year.

2. i'm not sure if any of you remember the 98 grammys where radiohead like this year were up for both alternative album and album of the year. they were offered to play on the night and the band wanted to play Exit Music (which as you all know ends with the lines " i hope you choke") the organisers said that it wouldn't be right for tv so the boys pulled out. the organisers then offered them the chance to present an award on the night to which the band responded "i thought you said we weren't right for tv" so they pulled out all together and if i'm not mistaken despite their countless nominations since have never returned to the grammys. and nor should they.

personally i really hope radiohead do something really off the hook and controversial otherwise it will be a very very boring night.

^ I agree, I want to see something controversial.

I also think the guys have grown up a lot since 98. They realize that it's nothing personal against their music, it's just a network that knows the majority of viewers would not want a line like that.

I don't know, I'm not planning on watching at all if they don't show up. I'll just check the winners online later.

Haha I know same....if they're not physically there, I won't be watching.

^Same...I won't be angry if they don't come because it's a crazy notion already that they would perform..

Yeah I agree they should definitely do some really kick ass stuff

Ditto ... I might even not be home that day and even if i am ... i won't stay up late if they aren't performing live. :\

I think they have grown up as well. It's like when Eddie Vedder said that winning a Grammy really didn't mean anything to him. I don't know if he still feels the same way, but I have to believe he would take it more in stride these days - award shows are what they are.

Also, I don't find the carbon emissions argument to be very compelling. I am environmentally sensitive, but I don't think a flight to the U.S. is going to be the end of the world. I get their argument, but I'm just saying...

I think sometimes we were forget that bands are made up of human beings no matter how out of this world we think they are. And that people say things they don't mean.....or change their views about certain things..eetc.

excellent.
