^Maybe...but I'm pretty sure that they've said in interviews that their lyrics have been somehow influenced by George Orwell.

  • Lol I haven't been here in 5 years but I decided to pop my head back in for some nostalgia. Seems like this was my last post so here's an update... I finally saw Radiohead live in Manchester in 2017 a

I've seen/read that too.

And the song Kid A was influenced by Lord of the Flies. Another great book.

It is great.

and as we know, some of OKC was influenced by THe Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. One of my favs

i never really liked The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Call me weird, but ... no.

^ for which concert?

Geez, it looks great! :D

I can't but call you weird hehe ;)

I can't but call you weird hehe ;)
i tried to watch the film (i know some book lovers diss it), it started fine, but i was online so i started talking to Will and then i couldn't watch it because i was distracted.

i'll read and watch it again sometime soon i hope... but first i have to do some other stuff so, yay. :uhoh:

well it\s just genious and viewsharing humour changed my outlook on life when I read it. deals with the whole universum and world.

I really recommend you to read it.

I'll try to read it if I have the opportunity.

:laugh3: haha, that's pretty hilarious, but also total bullshit for people like us. we TRULY like radiohead and arent pretending just to be elitist and isolationist and interesting. i must admit that it took me a few tries to really get into them, but now that i am i can never look back. and i feel as though i DO know what i'm talking about with them, thank you very much!!

and "Studies have shown that 95% of Radiohead fans have no idea what they are blathering about"? i think that number is GROSSLY overestimated. i would say its more like...40% maybe.

  1. Disavow any earlier music you may have liked. Those Maroon 5 CDs? They're worth nothing now. Remember that Coldplay CD you bought only because Yellow was your senior song and it reminded you of Prom night? Forget it. Listening to Radiohead for the first time should be a watershed event, completely redefining your understanding of music.

Have I started to do this with Coldplay?

  1. Pay attention to minute details. Their music will always contain lots of hidden and mysterious elaborations. It is your job to acknowledge and appreciate them. Constantly ask yourself, why is the music has strange elements to it and what is the significance of it. There are few that have been discovered by fans, for example for the song 2+2=5, the song transformed musically at the 2:25 minute point. Search and dig for more.

So true haha....every single little note has to be heard in detail.

Be a little secretive when it comes to Radiohead. Logic may dictate that you should blast Radiohead to all your friends, so that they may marvel at your heightened musical tastes. However, Radiohead should instead be a personal experience. Therefore, you should only listen to Radiohead on your ipod while huddled over a Chuck Palahniuk book in the local coffee shop. Your love of Radiohead is far too personal to simply advertise.

Kinda failed at this one haha

i wanted to comment it, but lets just say that i thought this article was from encyclopaedia dramatica and that those tight jeans arent really da shit and that hmmm what else? i forgot and coincidentally closed the window with my comment in development.

Curious, how many people actually sing along to Radiohead?

And whos actually good at it?

Curious, how many people actually sing along to Radiohead?

And whos actually good at it?

haha, i try. when i drive, i sing along to everything soooo loudly...

today i was singing "motion picture soundtrack" (my current absolute fave), and it didnt sound too too bad, but it probably would make other people drop dead :dead:

but anything decently mid-range to low i can do. i'm crap at the high stuff.

Have I started to do this with Coldplay?

Yes, yes you have. :P

*sticks fingers in ears* AROBTTH is my favorite album ever lalalala... :laugh3:

^^ I sing along all the time. I like it when guy singers have higher voices because the songs end up right in my strongest range. Any lower and I'd have to go up an octave into a higher register which just sounds all whispery.

"Come on if you think, come on if you think, you can take us allllll...... you can take us alllllllllll......"

EMI to release Radiohead’s Greatest Hits

EMI are set to release a Radiohead Greatest Hits album to coincide with Radiohead’s upcoming tour. Radiohead’s former label seem determined to make some money from the band’s current activities.

When Radiohead announced the release of their ‘In Rainbows’ Discbox in December, EMI quickly followed with the release of the 7 albums (6 studio, 1 live) as a box set which included the albums as digipacks, download and USB-stick.

Now the tour is coming up (North American dates are expected to be announced next week), EMI have got another release up their sleeves; the long feared Greatest Hits album. Ed O’Brien told Strombo [laughing]: “They’re planning to do a Greatest Hits for April, May to coincide with our tour. That’s an interesting one. We won’t be doing any promotion for that, obviously.”

In an interview with Analogue, Phil Selway quickly commented on a Greatest Hits album as well: “It’s well within their rights to do it. [sigh]. So we’ll have to see.”

This is most probably Thoms reaction :D

WOAH? EMI is allowed to do that? Grrr, I reckon Greatest Hits albums are just a pathetic excuse to get more money.
