Anyway, from Coldplay.com's Oracle today:

Q. I've heard Coldplay were inspired by Radiohead's album OK Computer. And I was just wondering if Coldplay were fans of Radiohead's post OK Computer music, given the large change in direction.

They remain fans of Radiohead and see their change of direction as strokes of genius. They started their career in awe of the band and to be honest, that's probably still the case.

You should send this to howyousawtheworld

It'll be a waste of time!

Obviously he has no respect for music in general, plus he'll interpret that answer to "The Oracle is a Twathead, just like Briggins".

Briggins, you're a complete twat! You're a little faggot fucksake! You know fuck all about music! You were a little Coldplay botter before. You've only liked Radiohead about 2 years, if that, and now you act like you're their biggest fan. When in fact you're just a little teeny bopper fakey radiohead fan who knows shit about music. And your blog is fucking embarrassing, I wouldn't even wipe my arse on your music taste it's that bad. Thanking people for voting Kid A, like people should have to have your appreciation when a couple years ago you'd have been voting a cheesy Coldplay album or seomthing else. Now go listen to some Kylie you little fag and stop pretending to love Radiohead!

yes yes keep posting more more so we can get to 1500 pages !

*jealous* :)

I must admit i only own in rainbows :bigcry:

Nothing wrong with that. you can find most of their albums for a decent price at HMV.

no problem... good way to start off. If you are to get more albums, I recommend getting The Bends next

I once thought The Bends would always be my favorite just because of songs like Fake Plastic Trees and Street Spirit, but the more you listen to the other albums, the more they grow on you. I don't like The Bends any less than I used to, I just love all the others so much more.

Same thing happened to me with OK Computer. Its a terrific album, but compared to Kid A and In Rainbows sometimes it just doens't seem as good.

I think with The Bends and OK Computer, they definitely have weak tracks, which is just not the case (for me anyway) with Kid A, Hail To The Thief and Amnesiac, they just flow so much better as albums rather than having stand out songs that are the only ones I want to listen to

no, OK computer will always be their first for me (in case we don't see any rh album coming soon)

I agree with Nathan that Kid A especially and most of the later albums flow better than the early ones, once you start listening to them you absolutely have to listen all the way through.

But like ricardo my overall favorite has to be OK Computer, though it's probably tied with Kid A.

good point. I do feel that albums like Kid A and Amnesiac definitely have a flow to them that it's better as an album whole. Hail to the Theif does work well as a whole, but there's a few tracks I don't care for so it throws me off (We Suck Young Blood, Backdrifts). For me there are very few tracks by them that I can say I don't really like.

I must admit i only own in rainbows :bigcry:

I was the same once...I got it for free and that was what started it all.

+1

awesome... lucky you! I saw them at the All Points West Festival and also the Camden, NJ show during their summer 2008 American Tour... amazing show!
