June 9, 200917 yr I have days when I can't. But not every day is a day for Radiohead. For me at least.
June 9, 200917 yr I may be getting ahead of myself, but I was thinking more about this digital download site. So we know that now they are putting albums online for digital download via WASTE. What I find interesting is that only a few days ago we got the announcement that Thom is playing his own solo set at a festival. I find this really interesting that it's Thom that's playing a solo set, and not the whole band. I mean they are still touring, so why wouldn't they play there? I'm starting to think that perhaps we may be getting the Eraser pt2 or something in the next few weeks. Also we know that there was a song that Thom worked on during the tour on his laptop that he sent to Nigel to mix. I mean with them announcing the digital store, and also Thom playing his own solo set it could be the case and would make sense. What do you guys think? edit: I just find it interesting how this has all been announced this week. I'm sure the band could have had a digital store before, but didn't. Perhaps i'm just too obsessed with this band :P
June 9, 200917 yr this probably is not a smart idea, seeing just how many radiohead fans are on this board, but i completely agree with mr. mc. squared. i've got nothing but respect for radiohead, but i can not listen to more than three radiohead songs in a row. they're a good band, there's no doubt about it, but not really meant for me. but keep radioheading ;] Very well put. I definitely prefer "uplifting" music, and I just don't find Radiohead's music uplifting in any shape or form, unlike the music of Coldplay, Keane and Travis.;)

I definitely prefer "uplifting" music, and I just don't find Radiohead's music uplifting in any shape or form, unlike the music of Coldplay, Keane and Travis.;) I find most Radiohead songs very uplifting. Sometimes the music isn't uplifting but the lyrics are, and sometimes it's the other way around. I could listen to them all day though, so my opinion is biased :D They probably have 1000 more plays than any other band on my last.fm, oops.

Well for me the melodies/tunes need to be uplifting, and I haven't yet heard a Radiohead song that fits the bill.;)
June 9, 200917 yr Radiohead is not really depressing music for me..:nice: White lies, thats really depressing music.
June 9, 200917 yr Radiohead is not really depressing music for me..:nice: Well compared to Cheesehead music, it's probably "euphoric"!!:P
June 9, 200917 yr so I have all the albums except for Hail To The Thief. I love them all, and I want to get HTTT sure, but part of me doesn't. We don't know how long it will be for another RH album, or if there will ever be another. So it would kind of like be the end of an era to get the last album I don't have. But at the same time, I really really want it. :(
June 9, 200917 yr I'm not "bashing" Radiohead. I have nothing against them per se. It's just that I generally like music that makes me happy and puts me in a good mood, and Radiohead don't seem to do that.;)I know you're not. I just gave you an advice in case you wanted to get into them. The melodies to Reckoner and Let Down are really really uplifting for me although Reckoner isn't optimistic as a whole. Lucky is also a very nice song, and it's not depressive at all. Same with There There, I Might Be Wrong, Jigsaw Falling Into Place and so on. so I have all the albums except for Hail To The Thief. I love them all, and I want to get HTTT sure, but part of me doesn't. We don't know how long it will be for another RH album, or if there will ever be another. So it would kind of like be the end of an era to get the last album I don't have. But at the same time, I really really want it. :(Buy it. The music won't get old, you'll most probably discover something new with every (other) listen. Plus, they're recording a new album.
June 10, 200917 yr @mc^2: One shouldn't be so quick to dismiss Radiohead music as merely 'depressing'. Despite the not-so-uplifting melodies, their music is er- allow me to state the obvious - so brilliant and amazing that you feel happy and hopeful in the midst of sad melodies. But to be honest.. maybe I love RH music because I am kinda neurotic to begin with. But seriously, you are a Coldplay fan and if you like Parachutes (songs like Spies, Don't Panic, whatever else) I don't see why you would not be interested in RH's earlier works too, like The Bends.
June 10, 200917 yr No, I don't find Radiohead that depressive, yes, must of their stuff is about objection to the modern society and anger, and some non escape songs that are actually quite depressing, but they also have a lot of uplifting and moving stuff. Radiohead is not a band easy to get into it, but when you really get them, you just won't get them out of your head :P
June 10, 200917 yr Well for me the melodies/tunes need to be uplifting, and I haven't yet heard a Radiohead song that fits the bill.;) Oh... Reckoner, that's a wonderful one. Worrywort has an uplifting melody and True Love Waits is amazing.
June 10, 200917 yr [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KvtT0fzItYw]YouTube - Talk show host - Radiohead[/ame] radiohead are at their best when they're angry.
June 10, 200917 yr I'm a bit depressed at the moment so it's been a bit hard for me to listen to radiohead.. well not hard, but it's making me think about stuff too much. when I wasn't depressed it made me think about stuff, too but now i do it all the time anyway so it's maybe too much.. gah nevermind. later.
June 10, 200917 yr i always prefer listening to music thats opposite of the mood that im in. i turned to vampire weekend and mgmt last summer when things weren't going that great for me. yellowy eyes, hope you start to feel better very soon.
June 10, 200917 yr listen to happy song (when they were still called ON a friday) =p it's quite uplifting
June 10, 200917 yr yeah it's funny haha . I did listen to it not that long ago actually. and thanks :)
June 10, 200917 yr Radiohead's music is sad, but it's not depressing to me. It's very uplifting and beautiful.

Well "Don't Panic" does have a great hook which makes me want to sing along every time. That's the difference.;)
