  • Lol I haven't been here in 5 years but I decided to pop my head back in for some nostalgia. Seems like this was my last post so here's an update... I finally saw Radiohead live in Manchester in 2017 a

^great review of the songs. Honestly I feel the same way. I think that the two songs are solid, but Supercollider is a bit too lengthy. But I really like the review of The Butcher. It's not only my favorite of the two, but my favorite song including all the songs from TKOL. I liked how he mentioned how the song sort of swells with arrangement at different points. That was definitely something that I enjoyed with the song and gave it a bit of character.

I really liked The Butcher as well, I think they still have more songs coming up and I hope they do some performances soon.

Guysss I got my Newspaper Album two days ago

I won't post pics but I will say sth about it,

I'm a bit disappointed with the tiny bits of artwork because they're really tiny and there are only 4 or so different images that repeat over and over. CD case (made out of cardboard) is 'meh' but the vinyls and their cases are  Haven't read the newspaper yet.

I will ask a follow-up question in a spoiler

So are you saying that the In Rainbows box set is superior in comparison?

I think so... Then again, I've only seen it once. The vinyls are easier to get out in the TKOL set and IR and I prefer TKOL artwork but when it comes to the content and the packaging itself, IR box set is superior.

neither have I, but it will probably be in the next couple of business days

I know Ainsley got hers recently (like, yesterday? I'm not sure), and she seemed to be incredibly excited about it.

Don't get your hopes up, it's nothing special :p

especially when it's just left inside a corrugated shipping box

*cough*

okie dokie you win

Actually I kind of hope mine doesn't arrive today. It's incredibly humid outside today and if it arrives it will just be sitting on the porch for hours; even if it's still inside the box, that extreme humidity won't be good for it at all.

I still haven't got mine.. I bet the guy now living in my old apartment kept it or something..

Flying Lotus to remix Radiohead’s The King Of Limbs?

It’s no secret that Radiohead and Flying Lotus are big fans of each other. FlyLo has remixed Reckoner, Thom Yorke appeared on last year’s stunning Flying Lotus record Cosmogramma, and just last week Thom spun records with Flying Lotus at LA’s Low End Theory.

Perhaps it’s not that surprising then that Flying Lotus appears to be remixing the entirety of The King Of Limbs (or perhaps just a song?). According to an interview with Flying Lotus in the Colorado Springs Independent:

Indy: He was also on your last album. Are there any more collaborations like that in the works?

FL: Not that I know of. They wanted me to remix the new Radiohead record, and I’ve been trying to mess with that a little bit. But I haven’t gotten to it yet.

Indy: Tell us what that’ll sound like when you’re done with it?

FL: It’s too early to say, man. I have no fucking clue. It’s difficult to work with, because the pieces that they gave me, there’s no real a cappella. It’s like piano and voice at the same time.

Indy: So you can’t separate them.

FL: No, I can’t. So I have to come up with some shit that’s a little similar to the record, I guess, to an extent.

Hopefully this project sees the light of day at some point. But imagine Flying Lotus producing a Radiohead record? (No offense, Nigel.)

If Flying Lotus produced a Radiohead album it would be the fucking weirdest thing ever

oh and my two radiohead special edition things that my dad bought me in chicago were stolen when my house was burgled :( I got Kid A back but not Amnesiac :(

I'm a little perplexed though by his comment in that interview. He made it sound like it would be nearly impossible to remix the TKOL songs; I'm no expert, but it seems like he wouldn't have to do very much with Feral, at the very least. And The Butcher would be sweet.

I'm in a bit of a dilemma now; I thought for sure I would be able to take my husband to the last day of the Detroit Electronic Music Festival at the end of this month, since Flying Lotus is performing late that night. But now he can't go, even though I was considering getting us VIP passes (as a super-early birthday present for him) so we could be next to / above the stage. (He's considered learning how to mix in his spare time, so I thought that would be cool for him to see things up-close.) I still really want to go though (I'd love the chance to see if FlyLo actually tries to remix any of TKOL), although it will be a little weird to just be there by myself. But I have a feeling I would regret it if I don't go; plus there is a "secret artist" scheduled for Sunday night. Can you imagine if... :dead:

If anybody can find a way to Detroit that weekend, screw it I'll pay for your 3-day pass, I want to go but I don't want to wander around aimlessly by myself. :bigcry:

 Wow, that's sad. Do you think the person that broke into your house is someone that knows you guys, and knows what kind of stuff your family had?

I still haven't got mine.. I bet the guy now living in my old apartment kept it or something..
Call the guyand/or the post office? :(

My Newspaper Album just came in the mail!!!
 What do you think of it?

Yay for Kid A! Can't you order Amnesiac on Amazon? :(

That sucks you got that stolen Eddie... it looks awesome!

It's really cool! The artwork is great! I have yet to put it on vinyl. But I could always post pictures eventually if people aren't getting it.

Yokay so I got my newspaper album today. Frankly I was a little miffed though because it's rainy and extremely humid outside; even though I got home relatively early and it was sitting on the covered porch, the box was still damp because of the humidity. Argh. But because of the inside packaging, it's not a huge deal (won't go into detail for those who haven't received it yet).

I didn't look at it in too much detail, just for shiggles wanted to see if I got the signed vinyl...

I didn't.

Greg, what if YOU have it and don't even know because you haven't opened your box yet?!? Then you go and sell it a few years from now and get ripped off because you could have charged so much more (or you could have just kept it)?

I didn't even know there was one. If by the time I come to sell it nobody has come forward with the signed one then I'll check.

I wonder if the signed 2 song vinyl is Supercollider/The Butcher or is just a seperate rare single (like Lotus Flower +a Remix

Also... did any of you guys get the Early Edition? on my newspaper it saw Early Edition in Red on the upper left
