  • Lol I haven't been here in 5 years but I decided to pop my head back in for some nostalgia. Seems like this was my last post so here's an update... I finally saw Radiohead live in Manchester in 2017 a

They just posted on DAS... a simple "!" with a link to the YouTube Paranoid Android compilation.

yeah... I saw that video a few days ago... they posted it in the atease news section I think

It's Radiohead we're talking about!

In other news, I might have a Radiohead watching party tonight (depends on exam results :whip: ). I'll be watching this concert: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6uKpQSPEjY&feature=related]YouTube - ‪[DVD] Radiohead - Toronto 2003 [Part 1/12 Songs]‬‏[/ame]

I don't get why it says Part 1/12 as the video is 57 minutes long. There is another part of the recording online but what about other 10? If they're all 1 hour long, you'd get 10 more hours of pure bliss  I mean, not that I'd complain about THAT, but you know?

Is like that: part 1 / 12 songs! :) are 2 parts only.

Ahhhh okay. Thanks for explaining. :nice:

Anyway, will have to postpone it until later. Another exam tomorrow :bigcry:

It's not that I don't like close-ups in general, it's just the way that it was done here. If you compare it to the previous FTB performance, it's so different. I mean, in one shot in the Staircase video all you see is hair flapping to and fro in the light. I don't wanna see that. The lighting throughout just doesn't seem, I don't know, "balanced". In many spots the lighting seems way too harsh. The first FTB performance was much more visually appealing in my opinion.

Of course, the visual part isn't really what matters anyway.

Oh I agree. Maybe the final full FTB thing will look nicer.

It has been performed in Cambridge last year and at some AfP shows. :)

ARGH the NME peeps keep confirming and denying the rumour but I think it's pretty certain that they're playing tonight. WHY CAN'T I BE THERE?! :bigcry: :bigcry: :bigcry:

If only I hadn't have that stupid exam this week - I could've gone to the festival :bomb:

Hopefully?

According to a friend, an ateaser will be there with a good camera so hopefully we'll get some footage.

:bigcry: I want to see it. I want to be there.

I seem to recall that I made a comment a few months ago about the possibility of them performing at Glastonbury this year (knowing that Thom and Jonny did a secret performance before), and somebody was like "oh hellz no that would stupid, they would only be worthy of performing on Saturday, what on earth are you thinking." :shifty:

Unfortunately the search function is disabled at the moment so I can't find it.

Radiohead confirmed to play Glastonbury Park Stage at 8pm tonight (June 24)

It's now official - Radiohead are set to return to Glastonbury as the secret act on the Park stage today (Friday 24 June).

Some "special guests" are listed as set to play there at 8pm (BST) - and the Oxfordshire quintet's spokesperson has confirmed that it is Thom Yorke and co who will be performing.

Last year, to mark the 40th Anniversary of the festival, Yorke and Radiohead guitarist Johnny Greenwood surprised everyone with a secret spot on Park Stage, resulting in a completely packed field.

It seems as if this year's booking was a rather last-minute affair. Speaking to NME on Tuesday (June 20) festival organiser Emily Eavis said: “We are still unsure of exactly who is turning up, mainly because it's unconfirmed at the moment! I swear I have heard every rumour – even that Led Zeppelin are playing!"

The performance will mark Radiohead's fifth Glastonbury appearance, including the secret gig from the duo. The band made their Glastonbury début in 1994, before returning for their monumental headline gig in 1997, often voted Glastonbury's greatest set. Radiohead returned to headline in 2003, sharing top billing with their good friends REM.

Last year's surprise gig started out with Yorke playing solo songs from his album 'The Eraser', including 'Harrowdown Hill', 'Black Swan' and 'Cymbal Rush'. Midway through the set Greenwood joined his bandmate and the two played a host of Radiohead classics including 'Karma Police', 'Idioteque' and 'Street Spirit'.

NME.COM is coming live from Glastonbury 2011 this weekend – stay tuned to NME.COM/festivals/glastonbury for news reports, reviews and photos from Worthy Farm. Then head back from Monday for backstage video interviews.

I have a feeling Thom might do GUTG all by himself, like in some videos I've seen (I think early 2010).

omg me wants to see that, if someone could get me a link that person would earn a prize from me!

EDIT: stupid atease why does it always crash?

Crash? It works fine. :)

I don't think the concerts on the Park Stage will be broadcast, they've never been afaik.
